Week
6 Challenge 9.14.01
Using
"Gaming Precinct",
rearrange the letters which
can only be used once to
form new ones such as
"gin" or
"rip." Though you
want to make as many words
as possible, the object is
to make words the other team
does not come up with. No
proper nouns or duplicates.
Ends 9/23.
Week
5 Challenge 8.26.01
Rancho
Directory is up and ready
for your viewing pleasure
but after this challenge,
you may become quite
sickened by it.
The
site is in need of captions
with the pictures. Each team
will post their captions in
the challenge forum. Next to
each reply, put the
corresponding number with
the picture (they are
numbered from left to right
top to bottom... 1, 2, 3
etc.). They will be judged
by myself and two other
non-players for cleverness
and originality. Each Pyra
member can write up to 11
captions while Tida can
write up to 15. Only one
caption may be written for
each picture. Good luck.
Week
4 Challenge 8.20.01
This
weeks' challenge lasts until
Saturday night instead of
the usual Friday. This week
will definitely challenge
your patience and
determination.
The
rules of the game are
simple. Each letter of the
alphabet corresponds to a
number. A = 1, B = 2, C = 3,
Z = 26 and so on. Your
objective is to compile a
word that has the letters
value equal 100 and only
100. For example, the word
TELEPHONE equals 100 if you
add the letters
T-E-L-E-P-H-O-N-E -->
20+5+12+5+16+8+15+14+5=100
Each
team is expected to find at
least three to avoid voting
off a member. If not met,
both must vote off. If both
teams exceed the required
three, the team that has the
most will win. If it comes
down to a tie, whoever posts
the correct 4th answer will
win.
Week
3 Challenge
8.12.01
ABC's
have been around on our site
for awhile and I thought it
could be this week's
challenge. If the topic is
vegetables and the first
word is lettuce, the next
word could be eggplant.
Since lettuce ends with E,
you must start the next word
with an E. The team that has
the most points (you get one
for each time you reply
correctly) wins. If you
cannot reply, you may use a
chainbreaker which allows
you to start over in the
topic with a new word. You
may only use them once in
each post and they deduct 5
points from your score. To
use a chainbreaker, type
CHAINBREAKER before your
word. If not done in that
manner, it will not be
considered a Chainbreak
word. If the word does not
fit the topic according to
my discretionary or because
it doesn't follow the order,
you will lose 5 points.
Posts made after an
incorrect word will count
only half a point. If a
second incorrect word is
found, the topic is closed.
-
What is Considered
INCORRECT
1. Use plurals unless
specified
2. Misspell words in that it
effects the end of the word
3. Does not apply to the
topic at hand 4. After
posting once, you cannot
post until TWO people after
you do.
Example:
James --> Inho --> Jon
--> James is valid, but
not James --> Inho -->
James.
Week
2 Challenge
8.5.01
This
week's challenge tests your
knowledge of other members
at the site. On the official
site is a grid of 20 user
names. Each puzzle includes
a clue which is next to a
hangman-esque version of
their name. Your challenge
is to complete all 20 of the
puzzles. If neither team is
able to at least reach 18
correct answers, BOTH teams
will be forced to vote off
someone from their tribe.
Whichever team completes the
challenge first or completes
more than 18 puzzles over
the other team will win
immunity. Names with numbers
are taken out for example,
cloudstrife16 = cloudstrife.
You are not expected to know
them all right off the bat,
so use the forums as a guide
to finding out these names.
All characters in their name
must correctly correspond to
the actual name. Answers
will be given in a post I
make in each of your forums
entitled MEMORY. Only
answers next to the
corresponding question
number will be accepted, for
example, 21.) Great Gamer.
All answers will continue on
until Thursday midnight
pacific time. The results
will be announced the next
day and voting will commence
as scheduled.
Week
1 Challenge
7.30.00
Welcome
Tida and Pyra! Your first challenge will test your agility
and also your ability to work within a team. In each of your
respective team forums there is a post entitled FLAME POST
and WATER POST. The goal is to have the posts reach 100
replies before the other team. The catch is that each time a
member on the team replies, they cannot reply until another
player replies after them. The first post in each will start
off with the number 1 and each reply must be the next number
so for example one person replies with 2, and the person
after replies with 3. If there are duplicates in players who
reply or repeats of numbers, the chain must be restarted in
a different post created by ANY team member. Both posts can
be replied to simultaneously but be aware of duplicates. The
FIRST team to reach 2 chains of 100 replies in the shortest
amount of time without creating duplicates will win immunity
for the week. Good luck to both teams.

Merger
Complete, Aera Born
9.25.01
Congratulations
to those of you who have
made it this far. It has
been grueling competition
but you have proven yourself
worthy to be standing where
you are at this point. Aera
comes from the word aero
which may seem familiar in
video games as an elemental
magic attack or in spanish
as in aeropuerto.

Kenn
Sent Home to Barbie
9.13.01
Kenn
has played it under the
radar helping in the
challenges here and there
and never made a strong
impression on his teammates.
Ultimately, this sly
strategy got the best of him
as other tribemates saw this
as a strategic way to
advance in the game. Even
without Rosie's vote,
nothing could sway the
balance of power in this
round sending Kenn out of
the game with three votes.
With another Pyra member
sent off, looks like their
"hot" streak is
over.
"If
Kenn isn't off yet then I
vote for him."

Duc
"Hunted" Down
8.26.01
You
think that being on vacation
and rarely showing up to
challenges would hurt you
but not in Duc's case. Even
with his absent vote, Duc is
the 4th person out of the
game accumulating 4 votes.
Interestingly enough,
despite him not being able
to access a computer,
numerous tribemates targeted
at other members of the team
trying to vote off the
stronger players carrying
Duc all the way to the
merger. Their strategies may
have failed but is
definitely a sign that the
competition is on.
"I wanna vote him off because i have NEVER SEEN him help ... well that is more active in like posting or even an event... although there was that one time he popped outa no where and assisted in a "word" for i think the 2nd challenge he hasnt been seen since... so if hes just busy or whatever that will save us the trouble of worrying if hes gonna help out or not."

Tribe
Merger Looming
8.21.01
There
are only a matter of weeks left before Tida and Pyra
become one and the way things are going, Tida will go into
the merge with a disadvantage unless they are able to
sweep the next three challenges. Now that it seems Tida
has gotten rid of all their supposed "weakest
links" they may be able to pull through and show Pyra
they have much more in store for them. On the flipside,
Pyra's strategy differs in the sense that strongest link
may be a target if they ever make it to tribal council.
One thing is for sure, no one is safe in this game.

Despite
Having Account, Kavi Gets
Axe But Plots Revenge
8.21.01
Why
Tida did not give Kavi the boot the first week is still
yet a mystery even after everyone was well aware that he
was the only person not to have an account in the game.
Even though he did not contribute much, Kavi still
continued to play the game, plotting allegiances to his
other tribemates and not to others. Though he is booted
out of the game, he assures us that he isn't out of it
just yet.
"I
voted for him last week and I am again"

Tribemate
Gains In Spite of Shane
8.12.01
Shane
got this week's boot as the
Tida tribe split into two
factions, one against Shane,
and the other against Kavi.
The vote came down to a very
narrow 4-3 with Kavi making
the deciding vote. Patterns
are emerging through the
second week of voting with
an alliance brewing between
two members. Now that Kavi
has attained an account,
will that be enough to
change his tribemates
opinion's towards him? Or
will they see him as a weak
link for their team? Find
out as the next challenge is
coming up.
"I
don't like his icon much and I don't know him in
person"

Amy
Ousted Out of Game
8.4.01
Amy
was the first victim who fell at Tribal Council, receiving 3
votes from her fellow tribemates, all of whom did not attend
the challenge. Confessionals from her team included the fact
that she rarely attended the forums, showing signs of a weak
link. Two other members tied for the second most votes, 2 per
piece and a single vote was casted on another player. The
voting results also reveals a blossoming alliance, but will
they stick together for a second week if they lose another
challenge? Find out next week.

never see her online"

Waves
Crash Down on Tida, Pyra Prevails 7.31.00
In
a tense filled challenge last night, Pyra comes out top
winning the first challenge. Throughout the game, members
from both tribes were forced to create new topics due to not
following directions. Others have confronted the host for
not following the rules explicitly. In the end, numbers made
the difference with all members from Pyra logging onto the
site while Inho and Mike were left alone to carry the burden
of the challenge. At one point Pyra had held a small lead
but the posting of a single apostrophe ruined their largest
chain. Homer, Linh, Chris, and Rosie were the powerhouses on
the other team contributing a great deal to all their 10+
posts. Will Tida's low attendance mark a definite banishee
for Inho and Mike and is an alliance brewing between them?
And what was Duc's motive for sending the verbal assault of
B!@#% toward Inho? Find out as the drama unfolds on Survivor
Precinct: The Elements.

Survivor
Precinct: The Elements Forums Open 7.29.00
A
special section on the site has been made for each of the
tribes and also a meeting place for both tribes to
socialize. Be aware that this is not required of you to post
or read posts, but may be very beneficial to the outcome of
the game. Also, votes will be revealed in the Tribal Council
forum as well as here. Please use these forums as they take
up space on GPF we could use on other projects we have
planned. Also special to these sections are polls you can
create.

Behind
the Tribe Names 7.29.00
Can
the tribe names be anymore obvious? Prior to going to bed, I
was devising possible name choices for the tribes. In times
past, the actual show has used such names as Tagi, Pagong,
Kucha, and Ogakor. Originally names such as Flame, Poison,
and even Illumination were possible names for the tribes.
But seeing that the colors we're a beautiful shade of blue
and a fierce dark orange, I thought of things that pertained
to these colors hence water and fire. I looked up fire in
the dictionary to get an idea of what would be better than
the "Fire" tribe and came up with Pyro. I dropped
the O and added the A. For the blue side, I thought of
tsunami which sounded too odd for a tribe name and instead
thought of tidal waves. To balance the letters used in each
tribe, the L was dropped forming the Tida tribe. Yes, that
was probably a waste of your time, but isn't it nice to know
what you tribe you are working for?

Tribe
Adjustments 7.28.00
In
light of Hank being on vacation and
returning after the game begins, we had no
other choice but to eliminate him from the
game. We brought in CK to fill his gap who
is joining the Tida team. In addition, Jon
and Inho we're split into separate teams to
prevent suspicion of cheating because their
position as moderators. As a precaution that
the game is fair, they have been denied
access to any restricted forum of the
opposing team even with their moderating
powers.

The
Rules of the Game 7.28.00
Welcome
to the first installment of Survivor Precinct! This is your
chance to prove yourself against other posters of Gaming
Precinct Forums and proclaim the title of Ultimate Survivor.
There will be competitions to prevent your banishment from
the game and other competitions that will help you get rid
of other players.
Each
week (times may vary), there will be one challenge posted to
your left. The team that completes the challenge fulfilling
all requirements of it will win immunity for the week until
the next week. Unless specified, only one team a week will
vote of a member.
Votes
will be made via email or through instant message until
Saturday. At the strike of 12:00 am pacific time, all voting
will halt. The banished person will be banned from their
team forum, will have their picture black and whited out,
and will be eliminated from the game. Players
may not vote for themselves. If the tie cannot be
broken after a second attempt, past votes will come into
play. Whoever accumulated more past votes will be out of the
game.
The
last player withstanding all votes will win the title of
Ultimate Survivor. With this title, the winner will win a
month long forum of their own where they are free too invite
whomever they choose and will have moderating powers over
their forum. The name of the forum will be determined by the
winner and must be approved by the administrator of GPF.
Good luck all players!
REMINDER:
Anyone suspected of cheating will be terminated from the
game!
