Omicron Chapter Bylaws - Cont.
Section 8. When an active brother drops below the required 3.0 GPA, they will go on what will be called academic probation. At this point, the following will occur:
A. Loss of voting privileges
B. They must attend one of the two weekly study hours provided by the initiation committee during the initiation period.
C. The brother will still be required to attend all major required functions (the inductions and meet nights), however they are only required to attend 25% of the semesters activities (this will not include study hours or Sunday meetings.)
D. The Scholarship Committee will partner them with a brother in their major. That brother will come to study hours with them and assist them in their work. If either brother can not attend study hours, they will make arrangements to meet privately once a week for one hour.
E. If there are no brothers in their same major, the best effort will be made to match that brother up with a similar major.
F. At the beginning of each semester, it is that brothers responsibility to show the scholarship committee their online transcript from the previous semester.
G. Event if they do not climb above a 3.0 GPA in one semester, they must show a raise in GPA from semester to semester. Academic probation will end when that brothers GPA rises once again above 3.0.
H. If the brother in question does not show semesterly progress, their case must be brought before the Executive Council. At this point, the Executive Council will hear their case and decide to either continue academic probation or to expel the brother from the Omicron Chapter.
I. A brother on academic probation may not be an officer of this chapter. If they are currently an officer when they receive this status, they must resign their position under the bylaws of this chapter.
J. A brother on academic probation may still be a committee co-chair or take a little if they so desire.
