Langkawi Island - January 2004 (Part II)
Langkawi is actually a very large island (close to 48,000 hectares) and therefore has a diverse climate of cool mountains, sweltering jungle, lowlands, and small tropical island archipelagos that can be visited on day-trips.  The island broke away from Penninsular Malaysia about half a billion years ago.

I don't like monkeys.  They infest the island and most inland parking lots.  They are very aggressive and have learned to scavenge or steal human food.
Ancient jungles encroach upon the sea on most of these islands.
