Directions: Determine whether the adverbial clause in the sentences appears before or after the main clause. Why do you think the author chose to put the adverbial forms where they are?
1.Because some people enjoy vigorous exercise, they tend to pursue sports that “rev up” their bodies.
2.On the other hand, some people practice noncompetitive sports because for them exercise is a means of relaxation.
3.People want to lost weight because they want to feel and look better.
4.Because Mary Morris may have stopped her car too close to a newborn piglet, she became the victim of a bizarre attack.
5.When Ivan appeared yesterday on the national TV, he announced to the public that the Army had taken control of the government of Surinam.
6.Although Ivan announced that he had led the coup, the real leader is widely believed to be Army Chief Peter Bold.
7.Bold had been serving as commander of the Armed Forces when he permitted the return of civilian rule in 1988.
