All commerce within Sol' Dennai is done using a combination of barter and currency. The currency of the Denna are called Barter Chips (BC^ ). As the name implies, each chip is nothing more than a chipped portion of a colored gem. The gems used hold no real value but were found to be more pleasing aesthetically than most other currency viewed in other realms. Each chip is stamped by the Jeweler of the Regent of Commerce. They are marked in increments of one (BC^1), three (BC^3), six (BC^6), twelve (BC^12), and thirty (BC^30). In most cases, the color (though not the size) of the chip will determine the value stamped on it, though none of them hold any true value without the stamp. Barter is also used freely in Sol'Dennai. This is a long standing tradition of the land and it's people and is carried out with a sense of honor. Items considered to be of value most commonly are building supplies, woven cloth, produce and the seeds thereof, or any number of services or wares which might strike the eye or interest of those one wishes to do business with.
