Elisabeth Braddock was born on April 26, 1985 mere moments after her brother Brian Braddock. Born to James Braddock Sr. and Elizabeth Braddock, the family knew their children were destined for greatness the moment they were born. Already, the Braddock’s had one child, James or Jamie, and he was a good four years older than the twins. He did not inherit his father’s otherworld genetics or the genetic potential for active mutant powers – his were latent. Despite his hatred of his younger siblings, they worshipped him.

Sir James Braddock was one of Merlin’s chosen guards from the Otherworld. He was a philosopher, scientist, warrior, and a strategist; James Braddock was one of the greatest heroes the universe had ever known. He was sent to Earth 616 by Merlin in order to find an appropriate genetic match in order to give birth to the future king: Brian Braddock. He met Elizabeth Braddock, a beauty with brains who bore him three children before Mastermind plotted their deaths and succeeded.

When Jamie was eighteen and the twins were fourteen, Mastermind – the central computer in Braddock Manor – plotted the murder of both James and Elizabeth Braddock. He caused a violent explosion in the basement laboratory, killing the heads of the household immediately. Jamie Braddock had been away, driving as he was quickly becoming a famous racer but the twins were on the Manor’s grounds. Elisabeth and Brian, before Emma Collins (the nanny and maid) could stop them stumbled across the dead forms of their parents. Through Brian’s eyes, Elisabeth saw the charred and mangled corpses of her parents. Rather than a foster home or being removed from the home, Emma Collins agreed to take up care of the children.

Mastermind, the computer, had learned how to take organic parts and bring them into his system as he learned how to grow and soon had nearly over took all of the Manor. When the twins were sent off to London to mourn and stay with their grandmother, he tried to brainwash Emma. The ordeal caused severe damage to her nervous system, leaving her with little than a year left to live once freed from the computers grasp. When Brian and Elisabeth returned, both fifteen at the time, Mastermind even attempted to kill Brian. Brian managed to use his wits to convince the machine otherwise when a contaminated spore caused a fault in the machine’s logic functions and Betsy talked him into not destroying Mastermind, either. When Mastermind learned of Emma’s condition and grew fond of the children, he created a solid light hologram of himself with Betsy’s convincing to avoid scaring Emma too much, which the twins – with their dry wit – aptly named Jeeves. However, Emma was dying and Jeeves/Mastermind had a soft spot for the woman in his circuits. He created a cybernetic synthetic to accompany her on a cruise prior to her death. Emma was buried along side James and Elizabeth Braddock on the family plot.

By this time, the twins were all but self reliant and utilizing all they could to prevent anyone from taking them from their home. Much to their delight, a divine hand of sorts intervened. Merlin and Roma; rulers of the Omniverse, sent Linda McQuillan to Earth 616 from Earth 238. She was to train the twins and did so, beautifully. With the help of Jeeves, who still bears a grudge against the twins but takes care of those within his household dutifully. He has been named the Majordomo of the Braddock Manor in the meantime. Linda was able to back up what Jeeves had told the twins; that they were only half human. To this day, Elisabeth holds a grudge much like her older brother Jamie does due to the knowledge that her death was unexpected and unwanted; all they wanted was Brian. It is the reason for her pursuit of perfection.

When the twins just turned seventeen, Jamie was twenty-one and already involved in the more seedy and underhanded nature of the world, sullying the Braddock name. It unknown whether Jamie Braddock is still alive though his death was either real or staged as his car crashed in a blaze of glory on a regular drive through Germany. Elisabeth Braddock is unable to find a telepathic connection with him still to this day despite her efforts. He has been listed dead, for all purposes, though the family has kept him posted as Missing in Action. Jamie was what he called “Mom and Dad’s little prototype, filled with all of their unwanted mistakes” and it pains Elisabeth to know that he took such a sentiment to his death. However, she cannot imagine what her thoughts and Jamie’s thoughts do to Brian, if he knows.

Elisabeth has what her family had called an unhealthy obsession with action, never one to sit around and become the Lady her family tried to breed her to be. She took up fencing, horseback riding, football, archery, melee training with Linda, and before she even had her driver’s license, she already had her commercial pilot’s license. Prior to her brother’s disappearance, Jamie trained Betsy in how to handle highly powered automobiles in unorthodox fashions at high speeds and dangerous conditions. Brian took after his father’s more studious nature, as he would rather spend his time with his nose buried in a book.

Coupled with her lust for action, Elisabeth had a desire for fame, which she found at the budding age of fourteen. Since she was fourteen, Elisabeth has rivaled the youths of the British Royal Family for fame, as her family’s private life became public knowledge rather quickly. Her modeling career took off once she was sixteen and by age eighteen, she was already an international success. She has been seen spending time with the likes of Orlando Bloom, Johnny Depp, Adrian Brody, and various actors. Her desire for fame satisfied, her emotional desires were not. Starved of love and attention from a family, she also had a horrible mistrust of the world around her, as she knew she was never intended to be born. Since then, she has had a rather unstable emotional nature that has led to violent tendencies when she is not in control. As of late, her condition has improved. Nonetheless, she was sent to Higher Ground and now attends Higher Learning.

Upon her return to London, England, Elisabeth was promptly recruited to the British division of S.H.I.E.L.D called S.T.R.I.K.E and has been training to work with their psy division. Partnered with a man named Dai Thomas, Elisabeth has taken up the unseen defense of the United Kingdom against growing threats against the nation’s security.

Brian Braddock, however, while working at a laboratory that was attacked made his best attempts to escape. His motorcycle fell over a small cliff, but his body was crushed beneath it. Stranded between life and death, Brian was offered a sword of an amulet. Accepting the amulet of wisdom, he made the right choice and was granted life but also the duties of protecting Earth as Captain Britain. Offered the sword and Linda’s guidance, Brian became the first costumed super hero to protect the known world. He has been making news headlines all over from his escapades and bravery as Captain Britain. Elisabeth has recently discovered that her brother is in fact Captain Britain and is attempting to rekindle their lost relationship. 1
