After Belle's death Remy and Rogue returned to the X-Mansion, and though the death of Illyana Rasputin, Colussus's sister cast a pall of sadness over the team, Remy and Rogue still went out on their first date.
The date was a total success the two of them managing to get away from the mourning over the recent events and have a fabulous dinner, apparently though, according to Rogue, the Gumbo was just awful!
Awful Gumbo or not, the two ended up having a romantic coach ride through Central Park, although things got a little shaky when Gambit tells Rogue he will risk his own life just to kiss her. Rogue, of course refuses, but this time she tells him exactly why.
Cody the young boy who was once her friend, the boy she first kissed, is the reason. Cody still lies in a coma from the kiss, and Rogue cannot bare the thought of having the same thing happen to Gambit.
Gambit reveals the real depth of his love for Rogue then, accepting her fears and saying that they simply won't kiss, he goes on to say that maybe this will allow them both to experince a different and truer love. Rogue touched by this goes to tell Remy her real name, he stops her however telling her that he doesn't need to know her name, he knows what's inside her, and that's what matters.
And so the great love story begins for real...but it's not an easy road and the question is where will it take Gambit and Rogue. |
