A silent ring echoes throughout the night
Across the deserted kingdom;
Idle torches burning bright
With no restraints on freedom.
The sleeping masses lay scattered around
In the place they stood before;
Unscathed bodies piled upon the ground,
They shall rise no more.
The rocky outcrop once stood high
Which no mere man could scale;
But now it barely skims the sky
And its color has gone pale.
Deeds of a man were known world-wide,
Into a legend he was made;
Some came to think he had too much pride,
And his name has been forbade.
None can hide from its mighty hold,
So when you hear that silent ring;
Know the one who rang those bells that tolled
Is Time, destroyer of everything.
