Psi Chi was founded in 1929 with the purpose of "encouraging, stimulating, and maintaining excellence in scholarship and advancing the science of psychology." Psi Chi is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies, and is an affiliate of the American Psychological Association and the American Psychological Society. Psi Chi chapters are located at over 1,000 colleges and universities in the U.S., and there are currently over 325,000 members. Having a chapter of Psi Chi at Lynn showcases Lynn's best psychology student and allows students to receive a visible reward for their dedicated academic efforts. One of the many rewards is at commencement you will be recognized for your achievements by being able to wear the National Honors stole.
Our chapter is only a mere seven year old, which in that time we have grown in popularity with not only the students, but also our professors. Out of our now four psychology professors, three of them are members. Lynn is proud to be a sponsor of a nationally recognized honors club. This club is a testiment to all of the fine psychology students that recieve their diplomas each year. In fact, psychology is the third largest major at Lynn. We owe our success to the wonderful Psychology professors, who have helped and support us all the way.
