This is the home page for the Quality Palladium Material Web Ring. Many may ask what the purpose of this web ring is. Well, While I have been browsing the Internet I have found that although there is a wide variety of Palladium Material on the Net, there is very little really good, high quality Palladium Material available. Now this might seem like an elitist ring, but it is not. It is like a club, you will have to be sponsored by current members or be invited by the Web Ring owner (see below for more details).
This ring is devoted to the Palladium Books series of role-playing games: Rifts®, Nightspawn/Banetm, Beyond the Supernaturaltm, Robotech®, Macross II®, Heroes Unlimitedtm, Ninjas and Superspiestm, TMNT & Other Strangenesstm, and the Palladium Fantasy Role-Playing Gametm.

How to Join the Ring:
First, a few requirements need to be stated. Most of these should be taken as guidelines and aren't necessarily set in stone. However, they should be followed and adhered to unless you have already spoken with a Ring Manager.
Entry Requirements:
- The page must already exist and have content on it. (No submitting pages that you haven't created yet...)
- The page must be related to and have something to do with at least one of the Palladium® RPGs.
- The page must contain an absolute minimum of 3 original game-related files.
- The page must contain working links and graphics.
- The page must be noncommercial in nature.
- You must have at least three (3) Web Ring Members sponsor your web page (this can include the Web Ring Owner) or be invited to join the Ring by the owner
I feel that these are all reasonable criteria. The sponsorship allows a fairly arbitrary judgement of the quaility of a page and takes the choice of additions to the Web Ring out of the hands of the Web Ring master. It allows for the members to build a better Web Ring. If you have questions about a specific item, please contact the Ring Manager.
NOTE: If you apply to the Ring and your page does NOT meet the requirements set forth above, The Quality Palladium Web Ring reserves the right to remove your page from the queue with or without notifying you. PLEASE make sure your page qualifies before you apply.
Here are the steps that need to be followed to join the Quality Palladium Material Web Ring.
Please follow them closely to preserve the integrity of the ring!
1. Create your page. DO NOT APPLY UNLESS YOU HAVE A PAGE. (You would think that this one would be a no-brainer...)
2. Contact the at least three (3) members of the Web Ring and ask them to sponsor your site by sending an E-mail to the Ring Manager
3. Fill out the form below to submit your site to the Palladium Web Ring. Note that it will first be put into the waiting queue, not the Ring itself.
4. E-mail a Ring Manager stating that you have submitted your site to the queue. They will then look over your page, and e-mail you with the final verdict: whether or not you can join the ring yet. If they feel your site does not meet the requirements, they will explain why and try to give suggestions.
5. You will need to save a copy of one of the main Web Ring Logo graphics. Upload the graphic to your web site. Do not just link to the graphic on someone else's page or this page, unless you have the owner's explicit permission first. You can choose any of them, whichever one you like more and complements your page the best. Please use one of these images only. If for some reason you wish not to use any of these, please E-mail the Ring Manager so that we can discuss the possibility of you using a different image.
6. Now you will need to insert the webring HTML code fragment onto your page. You should receive an e-mail containing an HTML fragment customized for your page after you submit your site. You will need to open your main page in a text editor and copy-and-paste the code into your page. The only part you may need to change would be the path to your webring logo image.
7. Alternatively, you can do it the difficult way.
- You can copy the HTML fragment from the box directly below, and insert it into your page. Again, you will need to open your main page in a text editor and copy-and-paste the code into your page.
Now, go through the fragment, and replace all spots that say "__siteID__" with the ring ID number that was assigned to you.
Replace "___yourmailhere___" with the e-mail address with which you want people to contact you.
Replace "___yournamehere___" with your handle or name.
Replace "webring_grahic_name_here.gif" with the name of the grahic fire that you want to use for your web site
(Please do NOT leave any of the underscores, "__", in!)Make sure the fragment points to the correct image that you downloaded, and that said image is loaded into your account so you can use it.. The Webring link (and info link), however, should still point to
http://www.webring.org/cgi-bin/webring?ring=cntzerorifts;home
- E-mail the Ring Manager once again, stating that the fragment is inserted into your page. If the HTML is written correctly, you will be added to the ring and you will get a message from the ring server. If it is not written correctly, you will be told what needs to be changed.
- That's it! You should now be able to navigate the entire ring until you make it back to your own page, although it may take a while!
Important Notes:
- Many of us have creations made by other people up on our pages. I'd like to ask that everyone make sure they have permission from the original author to display the item. There have been a few problems with work being displayed without credit to the original author or without permission. I'd like to try to avoid this in the future. It is only polite and common courtesy to ask someone before you use something of theirs.
- If you find that one of your creations is being used without permission on another site, please be civil about it. E-mail the site owner explaining the problem. Either ask them to credit the work correctly (and to ask first in the future) or to remove it from their site. If you are kind about it, most people will have no problem complying with your request. However, if there is still a problem after this, let me know and I'll see what I can do.
- If someone approaches you about a file of theirs you have displayed on your site, please be reasonable. Many people (myself included) like to keep a fairly tight leash on their creations. Often it is acceptable to link to the file on their site instead of having it reside on your site. This way you are also guaranteed to have the latest version of the file.
Thank you for your interest in the Quality Palladium Material Web Ring. We will continue to try to improve the Ring and keep you up to date on current news.
