![]() | ![]() This dude really had his work cut out for him at one point: He became leader of his Sacred Order at the age of 16, whose task was to defeat and seal the Gear known as Justice. I'm sure he realised how much of a pain in the ass that was gonna be, but the thing that kept him going was his sense of justice (GET IT??????) because he believed that evil had no place in the world, thus he should just get rid. Now that Justice is forever done away with, the poor bugger has a crazy robotic version of himself going round causing havoc. Nice way to get your reputation screwed over. It's a good thing he's bad ass because he once met a whole squadron of these robots and had to kick their faces off. I think the most undortunate thing he has going for him though, is the fact that he's French and has an unusual fascination with teacups. But he's been fighting in wars for like his whole life. No wonder he's so messed up. I would expect a war veteran to be more obsessed with collecting weaponry than collecting chinaware. Oh well, your call Mr. Kiske. The other thing that kind of makes me feel sorry for the guy is his hatred for Sol. Sol is just as kickass as Ky, but for some totally unexplained reason he hates him anyway (I'm not kidding; I've never actually found out why Ky hates Sol, and it doesn't have anything to do with him running off with the Fireseal). The reason I feel sorry for him? Sol doesn't give a flying toss. Sol's more worried about running around destroying Gears, but all Ky ever wants to do is kicks Sol's ass, but he's always too busy. Ah well. Best moment: "You heathen! I'm gonna kick your... hey, are you even listening?" I guess that's the scene in the added trailer for Guilty Gear X (that you get to see in GGXX if you weren't a total JapFag and didn't buy GGX Plus) where he's talking to Sol: "Your sin is beyond the grace of God", to which Sol just says something like "So?" Ky tells him to "Shut up!" in one of the most poorly acted voices ever, and then the two just start fighting. Because they can. Either that or his ending with Justice where he suddenly realises that there's more to life than good defeating evil ^_^ Rating: 9. He would have got a 10 but in all his kick ass attacks which involve a big magic lightning shooty sword of doom (including one called "Ride The Lightning"... can anyone say ripoff?), and the fact that when I first fought him in X for the PS2, it took me about two hours to beat him (aww come on, I didn't know the game very well!) he's just so unfortunately clouded by his will to be just and charitable. It's funny watching him tell Sol how evil he is though, only for Sol to be like "Whatever", and they end up trying to fight. Also, dumbass tries to arrest Zato's shadow (Eddie) for allowing its host to die. If that isn't completely retarded then I don't know what is. Theme songs: There's "Holy Orders (Be Just Or Be Dead)" (Nothing to do with Iron Maiden's "Be Quick Or Be Dead"... it seems like everyone who doesn't get along with Zato's Eddie has a reference to Iron Maiden in some way... freaky) and "Pillars Of The Underworld". I prefer Holy Orders by a damn long shot; it's a beautiful song and it makes me... well, I won't go into it. But there's nothing I love more than a well-played harpsichord (apart from a well-played shamisen, that is) and the intro in the GGXX version is particularly catchy... probably the best one, which is ironic because most of the XX tracks sound really weak except for the ones that were new to that game. All the organs are replaced with either this weird synth thing, or choirboy voices. Beautiful.Pillars Of The Underworld (#Reload) is pretty bloody neat too, although it just doesn't seem to be rock enough for Guilty Gear. One riff of it sounds suspiciously similar to "Prowler" by Iron Maiden (incidentally, Papa Roach stole the same riff), so see what you think. (Opens in a small popup window). And no, I'm not sad enough to upload an mp3 of Holy Orders ^_^ |
