A great example of an actual pencil layout of an animation scene!  This is from TV's Disney's Goof Troop. What is here is a Key animation, which isthe main action of a animated moment, then Inbetween animation is used to bridge the Key moments and make the transitions smooth overall. about 32 drawings make a second of animation.  Interestingly, TV animation uses half ; 15 cells a second, sometimes shooting the same cell twice.

The little holes at the bottom is the animation peg holes whicjh hold the paper in place for the camera.  The number 5 on the bottom right is the key number.  Cool, huh?
