Luna found Usagi and she became Sailor Moon and whenever Sailor Moon is in trouble her rescuer known as Tuxedo Mask (Mamoru) would come to her rescue.
They eventually found out they were Princess Serenity and Prince Endymion from the past, and Neo Queen Serenity and King Endymion from the future.
There is a total of 5 Seasons that deal with the present identities with clips from both their past and future.
The first season is when they find out they are the Princess and Prince from the past. However they never have anything outside a friendship relationship.
The second season Mamoru has lost his memory (actually happens at the end of season one but it carries over to season two) and Usagi is constantly trying to make him remember who he is while she is fighting a new enemy and a different rescuer known as the Moonlight Knight comes to her rescue. Finally Mamoru remembers and they start to go out. Then Rini appears. Then Mamoru mysteriously starts having dreams about Usagi dying if they continue to date and he breaks up with her. However after they defeat The Dark Moon Family they get back together.
The third season they are still going out and a new enemy shows up. The heart Snatchers. This is also when Sailor Uranus, Neptune and Saturn make their first appearance.
The fourth season they are still going out and a new enemy shows up. The Dead Moon Circus. At the end of this season Mamoru's life is in danger because the Earth has been incased ~ well the best way to explain it is a material that looks like copwebs. However, the Sailor Senshi defeat the enemy and Mamoru is saved. The Outer Senshi are not present in this season.
The fifth season Mamoru is killed in the first episode by the new enemy, however he is eventually brought back to life. This is also the season when the Sailor Stars show up and the Outer Senshi come back.
