June 21, 2003
I woke up this morning and embarked on an hour-and-a-half drive to Winchester to visit my in-laws.  First I met up with Colleens sister, Maggie  (MWC class of 06), and followed her to the Herter residence.  Kathy Herter is Colleens other sister, and she and her husband, along with children Magdalena and Joseph, have recently bought a house and are in the process of completing its construction.  The place looked great.

The most impressive part of the visit was little Josephs arm.  The kid is only three and yet already has a major-league fastball.  I spent the better part of an hour playing catch with the boy at their house with a puffy ball, and he was winging the thing across the room at impressive speed for a child twice his age.  His accuracy wasnt bad, either.  He landed the ball in my hands about a third of the time.  Unbelievable.

From there, we all went over to Colleens parents house on the other side of Winchester.  It was really great to catch up with them, and I was very excited to talk to them about PJs impending birth.  For dinner, we had an absolutely scrumptious leg of lamb with all the trimmings.  You can tell food is great when there is almost no conversation, and we were silent for about the first ten minutes.  Im still full three hours later.

After some pictures, I hit the road back to Fairfax, and thats where I am now.  Tomorrow I will join the group for the three-week seminar.

I have posted some pictures from the past couple days on the Internet.  Just go to http://photos.yahoo.com/psargent if you are interested in checking them out.

Two more things:
Steve happy birthday!  I wish I could have seen you tonight, but I couldnt jet back and forth fast enough.  Welcome to the 30-something crowd.
Tom I left that newspaper at your house.  Could you take it with you to Denver and give it Colleen?  Thanks.

Until next time,

Paul
