August 14, 2002 - Athens, Greece
Everyone,

Greetings from Athens.

I have to make this email short and sweet. We are visiting an internet link that costs 1 euro every ten minutes, and I don't type that fast. Also, the heat on the top floor here is ridiculous.

After sending yesterday's email, we caught our flight to Istanbul and set out for a few hours on the town. We had 8 hours before our flight left for Athens, so we decided to try out a Turkish bath. I have never been so relaxed. I'll tell everyone all about the experience when I get home. And Simon, all the guys had on towels, so don't get all freaky on me. Colleen says she prefers the California spa experience any day.

We landed in Athens last night and went to our hotel. I was amazed to walk out on the balcony and see a clear view of the Acropolis all lit up. It was beautiful.

We visited the Acropolis and the surrounding ancient sites today, and I have to say that I have never been so amazed. We both were awestricken by the architecture and the art that was all over the place. The views of the city from the Acropolis were unparalleled.

After a quick bite to eat and a nap, we are ready to head out for some nightlife. It is 7:45 right now, and the restaurants won't start filling up for another 2-3 hours. So we're out to shop around some more and then eat and who knows what.

More later.
