September 15, 2004 - London
Good morning from sunny London.

Colleen and I finally left the states yesterday, and we had a rather uneventful flight "across the pond."  It looks like the clock turnaround plan worked pretty well, and we are ready and raring to go see the city.

We had the incredible good luck to stay with one of Colleen's childhood friends and her husband (Barbara and Yannis, we can't thank you enough) on our first night in the great metropolis.  Barbara was kind enough to spend her evening waiting in the airport while our plane was sent into a holding pattern for what seemed like an eternity.

After a quick drive to their house, Yannis and Barbara even stayed up half the night talking, never worrying that their jobs would be calling them early in the morning.  We can only hope that the rest of England will be half as welcoming.

So here we are, about ready to board the Tube and head for the hotel.  The sights of centuries of history await us.

Hope all is well back in the states.
