dr. thomas parham, the former national president for the association of black psychologists tackled issues such as muticultural counseling, his research in racial identity development, and what it takes to be a psychologist.

jennifer mccusker, an industrial-organizational psychologist from the tricon global restaurants corporation, a leading giant in the fast-food industry and the taco bell corporation will present a lecture titled "how to be a psychologist in the business world?". she will describe the inner workings of internal consulting, external consulting, consumer psychology, and career options within the field.

a representative from the counseling center will discuss what it takes to be a psychologist, graduate school requirements, and degree options.  beyond that, job opportunities in the psychology field as well as internships and resources offered by the counseling center will be elaborated upon.

members will have a special chance to take a tour of the uci career center's facilities. the tour as well as a presentation will be lead by sabrina ahmad and fellow uci career center representatives. students can learn about job opportunities, job skills, and internships. in sum, students can find out what resources the center offers.

director of urop, (undergraduate research opportunities program), said shokair will speak about openings in research for uci students. in addition, therese degroot, volunteer and community service coordinator of "share our selves" will cover the program's mission to provide emergency aid, food, health care, and financial aid to people in need.

the director of the uci volunteer center, edgar dormitorio spoke about various volunteer opportunites within the surrounding community as well as resources offered through the center. in addition to dormitorio, indhira dawkins, the community outreach coordinator of community service programs victim assistance programs touched on crisis intervention, support counseling, and emergency aid. to conclude the night, tom linnert, the volunteer director of "think together"  discussde the after-school learning centers' purpose to provide tutoring, academic support to at-risk young people, and helping students stay in school.

anna burdin, the coordinator of the social science academic resource center served as a speaker. she discussed graduate school requirements, internships, and research opportunities.
