Peggy Sue Amison is an American Photographer and Writer from San Francisco, presently working and living in Ireland. She specializes in figurative work and portraiture and writes reviews for a number of American Photo Journals. She has found a rich source of inspiration in the West of Ireland where she now lives and works and has developed a keen interest in Irish history and folklore which has contributed greatly to her vision as a photographer and writer. She is presently involved in photographing the west of Ireland. Her portraiture is a documentation of both her own experience as a woman and the ambiguity of being such in modern society, and the experiences her subjects undergo as they differentiate between their true identity and the one which is given to them by others.
The work presented here spans the last ten years, from her time in University to the present.
