I started this home-based business when I realized just how expensive wedding cakes and unique birthday cakes can be!  Since I enjoy making cakes, I don't feel I have to over-price my cakes as many local bakeries do.
What is a Fondant Cake?
I like to make sure that people understand what they are ordering so there are no surprises when they get the cake.  If you are unfamiliar with fondant, it is just like a normal cake with covered in a thick icing, but there is a thin top layer that is laid over the cake.  That thin layer is fondant and it has a play-dough like consistency.  It doesn't have much taste, other than being a little sweet, but the buttercream icing beneath adds sweetness.  Fondant gives the cake a beautiful, smooth finish and is very elegant, but it can be difficult and sometimes messy to cut.  Be sure fondant is what you want before you order.
