Sky Odyssey
Home
Sky Odyssey is an overly charming game that embarks you on a quest through various environments and hours of fun. This is not a title to be overlooked. While not the most visually spectactular game, Sky Odyssey will keep you strapped in front of your PS2 for a very long time.
You basically take control of a plane and you take off into a world of adventure. You must manuever your way around, over, and under many land formations of many sizes as avalanches and harsh winds try desperately to swap your plane to it's death. All you actually do though, is get from one point to another. No shooting. No air to air combat. No action period. This is strictly a flight sim with a twist of adventure. Now before you go off and say that this sounds like a stupid game, Sky Odyssey is a very challenging game that provides the option of unlocking several aircraft and fully custimizing them. Speaking of challenges, this game offers many real-life tragic situations such as refueling on a speeding train or a flying aircraft, making your way through a storm to reach the center of a hurricane, and making your way through narrow caves. Once you get used to the moderate difficulty, Sky Odyssey will become a favorite in your PS2 library.
While needing improvement, the graphics still qualify for PS2 quality. As you fly through the levels you will notice that the developers did not pay much attention to detail, and the visual effects are defiantely not mind-blowing. But once past all this, you will notice that the massive levels do have positive charachteristics.
Sky Odyssey does not offer much of a storyline. To be honest I don't even know what the storyline was. But none the less, the game is still fun.
Sound quality would have to be considered one of the better parts of the game. The narrarater is dull and boring, but the music seems to go with the mood. The plane sounds are great, and with that said, the sound is overall pretty good.
If you are looking for a fun flight-sim without the hassles of technological terms and longitude and latitude. I reccomend you get Sky Odyssey. it is a great game that will take you and a few friends a long time to beat. It's to bad many people overlook it because of the box-art and title.
