Incredible, that is the only word I can think of to describe the next saga in the Metal Gear series. This game is an absolute must buy, or at least a must play. But let me tell you, once you play this game you won't wanna quit. This is the most amazing game I have ever played. I congradulate Hideo Kajima and his team on the fantastic game they put together. With over three hours of cutscenes, this game has the most creative and the best story I have ever seen in a game. If they made this game into a movie it would be awesome. You play as the ever-famous Solid Snake and a new charachter code-named Raiden. Your mission may seem simple but it's not. You must prevent the use of Metal Gear, an enourmous robotic super monster. There are most twists and turns in this game than in most movies. A truely remarkable quest for truth. Another fine point of the game is the control. It is very easy to control. With pressure sensitivity, this game rocks. You can do practically anything you should be able to do. Unlike Tomb Raider, you can easily navigate from one place to another as you advance your way into the heart of the game. One annoying aspect is that when you get just a foot or less away from a wall you flatten against it. But other than that Metal Gear Solid 2 is perfect. Now the graphics and visual effects in this game are far better than any others I have seen. Explosions may be a bit tacky but other than that get prepared to be strapped into a highly realistic game that is as addictive as those cheesy tetris wannabees are to your mom. Gameplay is absolutely brilliant. You are an undercover operative seeking information on the all new Metal Gear Arsenal. You manuver your charachter around dodging from one hiding place to the next trying to constantly outwit the guards. You need to defuse bombs, demobilize gaurds, infriltrate high security areas and much more. One minor problem with gameplay is that it may be too short. The mojority of the game is cutscenes. Overall this game definately deserves a perfect five stars for it's brilliant story-line, stunning graphics and visual effects, and gripping gameplay. This game is definately worth the $50. |
