Dark Cloud

Brilliant, is the only word that can describe this outstanding game. Dark Cloud is a game that goes beyond the barriers of the classic RPG. It's higly detailed worlds, it's amazing cutscenes, frightening monsters, and fully interactive worlds and charachters make this game a must-have title for the PS2. Once you have played this game you will be captured by it's magnificent aura that surronds it.
The thing that makes Dark Cloud the awesome game it is, is the gameplay. The carefully thought of plot takes you in to the shoes of a young boy who must reconstruct the lands that have been captured by the evil genie released by the power craving General Flag. The genie has sealed the various shops, houses, and everything else that once made the land beautiful into magical balls called Atla. Only you have the power to release the kingdom from the atla using your magical stone called Atlamillia. Once you have retrieved the Atla from the depths of the dark dungeons, where your worst fears come alive to do battle, you must reconstruct and improve the once peaceful land to find clues to help you defeat the evil genie and General Flag.
The graphics and the world's are cleverly created and detailed. For a PS2 game the graphics could use a little help but they are still very good. Every charachter is fully interactive and has his or her own personality. The dungeons randomly change layout and they are pretty much the same but are full of monsters whose main goal is to destroy you.
Despite the lack of charachter voices (other than grunts and groans), Dark Cloud has some pretty catchy tunes. But overall the audio could've been improved.
Do not judge this game for whatever reason you may have until you have played Dark Cloud, I gaurantee you will be sucked into it's marvoulous world, even if you are not a fan of RPGs. This game will not be one that is easily beaten, it will take you well over 30 hours to completely beat. Dark Cloud redefines the definition of fun, it is a blast. I don't care if you have never played this game before, go out and buy it because I promise you that you won't regret it. All in all Dark Cloud is an absolutely amazing RPG that will be continued to be remembered forever and ever.
