Message from the Principal

Dear Parents, Families and Friends of PS 11, I wish you could see all our teachers have already done for our children only seven weeks into the 2002/3 school year!

The new contract has allowed us to form study groups to enrich our teaching practice while making learning more exciting for every child. There are conversations in hallways, in the office, at grade meetings, at lunch, on the way to the subway, wherever teachers can steal a moment from a busy day.

Conversations not only about instruction but also about: having a child do extra work in a class that he or she enjoys; working out ways to help children who need extra support because of family or emotional issues; making sure that children get here on time; finding warmer clothes, or materials for

those with less than others; making sure we teach the whole child.  We have also composed a vision statement that we will share with you in the next few weeks, to make clear the kind of learning environment we hope parents, teachers and children will honor.

Reminders

- Many children haven’t brought in blue emergency cards. Your child's safety would be in danger without them! Please return them.
- Support your PTA.  The same few pareents cannot carry such a heavy load, so please, lend a hand.
- Please be on time: the minutes add up.&nbbsp; Children go up at 8:20am.

Once again, thank you for trusting us with your children; we never forget the responsibility that implies. Sincerely,
Francis Del Monaco, Principal
