| HOW TO TINT YOUR CAR YOURSELF TINTING INSTRUCTIONS:- You will nees a spray bottle full of """""""soapy"""""" water a "sharp" razor blade/craft knife also a small squeegee needs to be about 8-10cm long of firm rubber to push the bubbles out if you cant get this can use an eftpos car but this will scratch the inners of the tint. 1) buy the tints legal 35% illegal 20% 5% advise 5% too dark 35% may as well not tint your car 20% just right most of the tinted cars around have 20% 2)pick a day either morning or evening that is not too sunny or else the water you use will dry up too early and the tint will stick. "instructions for side windows" 3) clean the inside of all the windows! with window cleaner and make sure there is no window cleaner solution left after cleaning the window or it will melt the tint. "experience" 4)spray the "outside" of the window first 5)UN roll a portion of the tint roll and spread across one of the windows and make sure! the clear plastic side of the tint is facing you otherwise you will cut 2 tints for the same side window 6) once you have a big square bit of tint on the outside flatten to make shape of window.. "through the tint you will see the clear glass meets the black rim on the inside of the glass cut your tint about 5mm over on to the black rim on the inside this way once the tint is stuck on you would be able to see the ending of it. 7) once cut start to peel the clear plastic side off you will notice the tint sticks to the outside because it is wet and the sticky side of tint is facing you, as you peel spray the sticky bit with your soapy water to prevent the tint from sticking to itself and other bits on you travel inside the car. "hint" "you can never have too much soapy water when I mean spray I mean like a hose pipe! it will evaporate in the heat so don't worry about it, the more water you use the better the tints will turn out.. take the tint to the inside of the car "again spray spray spray! the inside of the window with soapy water and stick the tint to it in the position you want, with the soapy water makes it easy to move to the position you want 9)once happy with the position hold one hand firm on the centre of the tint and with the squeegee push all!!!!!!!!!!!!! the bubble out, this is the easiest part. 10)now you will get reforming bubbles coming from the outer sides this is normal and when you push them out they keep coming back.. just keep pushing them then stop for a while then do it again.. do this till they go away and once there small leave for a day or two and do them again once there dry its easy this way.. also what I use is a hair drier or a hot air gun, point it at the bubble and it will get bigger with hot air then push it back down. this get rid of the water making the tint dry and it will close the bubble this still takes a while too and don't hold it on the tints for too long either 5-6 seconds is all it needs. 11)once done all the windows don't wind them down for a day or two..for they peel off, this depends on your car though.. mine about 2 hours till I did. "back window"........ repeat all the steps from before only difference is in the cutting out stage depending on the size and shape of the back window you will know how many strips to use.... example.. Levin truno -- I used 3-4 separate strips of tint for a flat back window use two eg the shape like a 180 sx use 2 strips...eg Levin truneo.. top strip straight across 1/3 of back window middle again another 1/3 of window the bottom you can either do it in one strip or two halves I did the halves because it is difficult around the window wiper area... tip while cutting.. again cut on the outside of back window and use a demister strip as a cutting line, make sure all the joins are at least 1-2mm over lapping and as its behind the demister strip so cant see the join. away you go your car is tinted ... |
