| Karl von Hessler (1460-1518) Born at Eastren Prussia of wealthy merchant class family (whom bought their noble Von) Febuary 21, 1460. Son of Henrik (1432-1489) & Helga Von Hessler (1435-1493). Married in 1485 with Christina von Aberg (From Gotland) (1465-1525). Daughter of the Mayor of the merchant city of Visby (thus helping the hessler family secure their buissness in that city). They had a Son named Octavius Karl in 1492.(1492-1530) They had a Daughter Helena Margreta in 1494.(1494-1528) They had a Daughter Fredrika Christina in 1496(1496-1535) & a Son Johan Peter in 1501(1501-1549) In 1491, Poland-Lithuania declared war on Teutonic Order and Prussia. After almost one year of fighting, Konigsberg capitulated and Prussia became vassal of Poland-Lithunia. Karl who was sickened by the coruption & mismanagement of the war & the disgrace brought upon Prussia decided to divert his attention from bussiness to Politics & entered the Council of Prussia. |
