What's coming up soon |
What am I planning? Well, I didn't expect this to be going as well as it is and it seems to be growing everyday. I hope to add more places to visit with routes, points of interest and a topographical map in 1:50,000 for each area. Might as well put my University Degree in Cartography/ Satelite Photogrametry to use. I would like to add more pictures but this slows down the pages. I'll try to keep the files as small as possible. |

Where do you climb when the weather is terrible? Indoors! We have a few choices in Vancouver for indoor climbing but when you live in Chilliwack it's a bit of a drive. I have built me own in the garage where I am fortunate to have 15 foot ceilings. This isn't very hard to do and is fairly cheap. I'll get into the 'hows' and 'wheres' of indoor climbing walls. |

I've been into the great outdoors all my life but what really got me going was living in Chilliwack. You can't help but look at these beautiful mountains surrounding most of this valley. Being on a Search and Rescue Team has raised my level of awareness and made me analize a system for it's safety. I often catch myself running through routines of inspection now when I climb, windsurf or go diving. Everyone on the team is a volunteer and they are a great bunch of people serving the community in which we live. The calls can come at anytime and can be for anything. When the pager's "Beep Beep Beep" go off, the adrenaline levels go up. |
