This page is patterned after my page on Place Names in The Four Gospels. I developed the data of place names in the letters of Paul while writing a paper on the New Perspective on Paul. I simply read the New International Version of the Bible, so the spelling are in keeping with those of those translators. The pictures are mostly from the webshots photographs and the articles are from Wikipedia, an open source encyclopedia.
Paul mentions cities that he had gone to, wants to go to, or has some other ministry interest. The book of Acts also mentions many of the same places as Paul's Letter do, however, some of the letters were written after the book of Acts. I have developed charts for Paul's Missionary Journeys but have not posted them yet. A few of the references to places are really quoting the Old Testament story and does not reflect a place that Paul actually visited, for instance Sodom. In one instance I did use a symbolic place, "the Jerusalem that is above" because it was contrasted with "this present Jerusalem".
