The death sentence is a punishment that is giving to a person who has committed a serious crime. Such crimes are murder, terrorist actions, bombings, etc. I feel that giving someone the death sentence is giving them an easy way out.

I chose this topic because there is a great amount of crime in this world. This topic is important because it shows people that crime brings about nothing but bad things. It also teaches people that there are consequences to pay if you choose a life of crime. Crime affects every person’s life. You may be the one who commits the crime, or you may be a victim of the crime. The importance of my topic should not be taken lightly. The possibility that my project will encourage people to choose a different direction in life makes it a worthy cause.

QUESTIONS

1) What is the crime rate in the united states?

2) What percentage of the crime is worthy of the death sentence?

3) What attempts have been made to limit the amount of people who receive the death sentence?

4) What is the cost difference between keeping someone on death row and keeping someone in a regular jail cell?

I do not know what type of answers I will find, but I expect to find that there is a high percentage of people who fall victim to death sentence, and that there has not been any great attempts to completely eliminate it.

I want to make people aware that the death sentence is an important issue in today’s society. I would also like to encourage the public and government to help eliminate the it.
