Description of Persona: Kandace has a height of 5�6". She has a nice curvacious body with an hourglass figure. Her eyes are slightly far set and bright brown with light green fleck here and there. They're framed with long, thick, dark lashes.... one of her better features.

Her hair goes to her shoulders is a light brown to go with her eyes. It's layered to frame her face and quite wavy, but not quite anything else, either. Fortunately, it also requires no effort to style except to have it recut every few weeks. Usually worn in pigtail braids behind each ear, sometimes with ribbons braided through. Or if she's feeling a bit crazy, she'll do her whole head into a swarm of little braids, or of course she just leaves it down. One thing she loves to do is play with her hair and she has the irritating habit of sometimes twirling it if she doesn't catch herself. Kandace has high cheek bones and full lips. Her nose is like her eyes--a very good feature. She's been told often it's a very perfect nose. Her eyebrows benefit from being plucked once or twice, or otherwise it would be a way different story. Her complexion is a soft beige-ish color, it seems she's never without her little touch of sunburn or some such across her cheeks and nose. She has a slight touch of freckles on her cheeks and forehead, being a fairly normal teenager. Most would call her quite attractive and she usues all of these features just right to get what she wants.

Kandace is acerbic, misanthropic, opinionated, sarcastic, and egotistical. Yeppers, Kandace is positively in love with herself. As far as she's concerned, she rocks her world and she rocks everyone else's too. She's not obnoxious about it, unless she does something particularly cool, and then she runs around gleefully telling everyone. She's quite happy with her looks and feels no need to obsess about them, for she's quite positive the opposite gender is quite in love with her and things she's the most beautiful creature that walks Pern. It's all good, you know? It's hard to find Kandace truely depressed because she can't think of anything to be depressed about. She knows she's not quite perfect, but she's quite content with how she is. And why shouldn't she be? She's quite pretty but perhaps her flaw is her attitude. Her confidence with men is probably a bit more than they could handle and hops from mate to mate. She can be charismatic and magnetic when she wants to be. She carries herself with a bearing that commands respect. It is NOT okay to mouth off to Kandace because you will get a mouthful right back. She demands respect, she really doesn't care if you rank her to High Reaches and back again. She's very opinionated and feels no hesitation about voicing these opinions. After all, if no one spoke up about what was wrong, would anything ever get fixed? Of course not. She's very sarcastic simply because she finds it amusing and fun. She is a bit misanthropic, though. She has a general love for people though, wait, let me reprhase that, she loves the _male_ population and considers the rest as competition and petty. After spending all the time in healing, she's determined that people are very, very confused and need to rethink themselves. She has a VERY low opinion of anyone that's always self conscious and simpering. She isn't going to go out of her way to accomodate others, unless they give her a reason to respect/awe them, which would then lead her to do things for them, unless it happens to be someone she particularly wants to impress. She doesn't feel that everyone deserves something from her, so she'll only give something to those that she thinks deserves it. As far as she's concerned, people ought to do things for themselves. She doesn't like being dependent on anyone else. She thinks people are very pathetic because they depend on others far too much. Sometimes she wonders why she chose to be a healer.

Brief History of Persona: Kandace was the last child in a long line of children, mostly girls, sadly enough. She has lived more than half of her life in a northern weyr. Her mother's green was severely injured in an accident while learning to fly. They were unable to ever fly between, so instead Kanet decided to become a mother. She and Dace, Kandace's father, had a small platoon of children, all the while hoping for a son. When they finally got Kadan, they decided to try once more to see if they could get another son. However, out popped Kandace. They stopped after that. Kandace still teases them that she scared them out of having anymore kids. (Which she considers a blessing. She's not particularly fond of small children, and so far has avoided having any).

She grew up a lovely little weyrbrat, running around and terrorizing everyone and everything in the northern Weyr she grew up in. People got used to her and learned to disregard her though, so she spent her time terrorizing her older siblings. They got sick of her very quickly, so they started Impressing in order to get away from her. Well, really it was because they wanted to Impress, but this is her cynical view...

Kandace became curious about the world outside the Weyr. There had to be so much more than just what was inside the Weyr walls, right? So she apprenticed at the Healer Hall. She didn't really know why, except that she enjoyed being around people to ruin their lives, so she intended to remedy the problem, or become beaten trying.

There, she met Dayla and Akhen, who generally kept her entertained when she had nothing better to do and really felt no urge to do her assignments. She developed a bit of a crush on Dayla, but try as she might he never quite gave in to her flirting. So things simply continued normally and Kandace found another object of affection. Akhen and Dayla got promoted to journeymen, while Kandace remained an apprentice. Why? Because she never took quite the right approach--she tended to dislike the people she was studying too much and said that they ought to be able to help themselves and not yell at her if she didn't hurry along quickly enough, (but if you've ever been scorched by Thread or fallen off a dragon, you'd want a bit of hussle too). She had her opinions, and refused to budge after being so 'rude' to her and was constantly being reassigned patients. She's a bit stubborn like that. The masters were irritated by her doing this and refusal to use her potential. Things got ugly.

However, then K'lie and blue Sheylenth showed up at the Hall and Searched Kandace and all was well with the world once again. Before she left, she received a small black kitten from Dayla as a present and named it after him. Kandace went to the northern Weyr where she was horrified to discover that all her siblings had ended up there too. What sort of cruel trick of fate was THIS?! She glowered some, but went ahead and made a few friends. It was good.

She Impressed green Trixith and became a rider. All did not go well though for soon after becoming a rider she was banned from her former weyr for inappropriate behavior or some rubbish like that. She was sent Silver Ridge Weyrhold to properly punishhed and seperated permanently from the bronzerider she'd cause trouble with. Though her crime wasn't too serious, here she is now, on probation, at Silver Ridge Weyrhold.
