| And BANGO! we start this top ten of with a real bang. Ironic seeing as Weezer's music wouldn't really be described as BANGO!, or ZOUCH!, or even HAZA! In fact, it would be hard to use any comic book onomanopeias to describe Weezer. But for you I'll try. If I were to chose one sound to describe Weezer it would have to be GOLOPTH! because that's the sound Batman's heart makes in the comic where he dies of a heart attack. I'll explain. While most music aims to please the ear, or make the toes tap, Weezer focuses on what really matters, the heart. Weezer's music is about the loss of love, or looking for love, or impossible love, or just plain "Look there it is" love. They deal with emotions; which, after a hard day of getting trampled on by the man, we all need to get in touch with. I think if more people would listen to Weezer there'd be happier people, less war, more fun, and we'd all be naked as Tony Medina in a drunken rage (PLOOOF!). So go out to the store right now and buy their second album Pinkerton. And for God's sake listen to it naked. How can you get in touch with you ( i mean emotionaly. honest.) if you have all those clothes in the way. |
