Speed Dial
(everyone shout their name together first for an introduction)
- People go around in a circle and say their first name as fast as they can, this activity is timed
Hullahoop Chain
- Hullahoops are sent around a connected circle of participants as fast as they can get it around. - This activity is timed. We can add in another hullahoop for more fun.
Captain’s Coming
- A simon sez type activity that gets the participants moving and listening to directions. Fun competition.
Lions, Tigers, and Bears. Oh my!
- Activity to split the groups up into smaller groups.
Small Group Activities
- We will split into three smaller groups if the numbers are what we got originally (27).
- If this drops to 24 or less, we will split into two groups. Dr. Funke will be with the group that has a particular student, and that will be determined after the last activity.
- If three groups: Leigh, Heather, Dr. Funke + Kevin (so there is a female facilitator in every group)
- If two groups: Leigh + Kevin, Dr. Funke + Heather
- I will float providing any support, materials, extra spotting, etc. that is needed.
We will be focusing on Stress Management. Please introduce the initiatives with this in mind. Please title them such things as “The Wall of Stress” “Stress Log” “Traversing Stress,” etc. Please be creative, and use your own metaphoric structuring around these activities.
More Specifically we will focus on Social support (asking for help, cooperation), Trust (trust within one’s self, trust with others), and facing fears.
Spotting Sequence
- Done on the Large
field: Tic, Tic Toc, Wind in the Willows, Levitation

Spider’s Web

- You have already done levitation, so you can go straight into activity

Questions to be asked:
How did you define the challenge/problem as a group?
How does this relate to stress?
How do you identify stress?
How did the group identify stress?
What decisions did you or your group make that proved successful with dealing with stress?
Stress management Techniques
Process of dealing with Stress
What can you take with you from this experience?
I set these questions up to go in an order for processing. Have them build upon one another. If you find something else that the group is focusing on or that you would like to process, please feel free to, as long as it deals with stress management. This is just a guideline, please use your experience to determine your processing.
