Today, Steve is working on the suspension.  He has already pulled several suspension members, and ordered new heim joints to replace the worn out ones.  Here Steve begins to clean up the shocks and replace the bushings.
A typical garage of a DeTomaso owner ?
Gaskets are hanging from the ceiling, parts are stored everywhere !
At the left, Steve starts by giving the parts a cleaning before inspection.  The car had less than 40,000 miles, and these shocks and bushings had not been replaced.
Taking a closer look at the right, compare the old bushing (back) to the new bushing (front).
The old bushing is no longer centered.  The weight of the car has repositioned the bore. The red marks on the spring are likely from the factory.
Some bushings come out with just a little effort, others must be forced out with a press.
