My Euro Sister
My car is an 11/72. In talking with a new PCNC member, I learned he has a car within a few VIN digits of mine. So close, the cars could have been made the same day !  BUT, His car is a Euro-GTS!
Here was a great opportunity to learn the differences between a U.S. spec car and a Euro car made at the same time !I had always wondered what my car would have been like if it was sold in Europe.
We know that you could order a car built as ordered.
In the Fall of 1972, this is likely how the factory would deliver a car for the European market.  The front turn signal, seen above, is part of the front bumper, as Euro cars were not delivered with the U.S. Spec front "L" bumper.  Note how the bumper fits !  In the rear, you see the Euro tail lights (amber turn lens), and the GTS emblem below "Pantera".  The rear bumper is the small, split early style, that does not wrap around the fender.
The car sports the GTS flares, and the fender underneath was not cut for clearance.
KPH gauges, in the Euro-L dash.
My car has the early 2 pod dash.
The gauge panel contains Italian-worded gauges, and icon switches, in the later-type console.  Below you will notice this car didn't receive the gas filler in the gill.  It is reported that started around VIN 5000, yet my car (4580) has the gas filler in the gill.  Below and above you'll notice the rocker script used.  The car rode on 7" fronts and 8" rears, not the 10" rear wheels I expected, which were obviously not ordered on this car.
Take a good look at the quater panel lights.  The rear has the hole cut, with the border trim, but is plugged with a piece of body panel !  The front is treated similarly, but with a thin amber lens added.
This car may be for sale, and I hope to get another closer look before it is sold.
