�Figuring It Out� Chapter 1: The Club

�Great show guys and girl,� Mike Cronin looked at Jenna Fairfield, my wife and fellow band mate. �Great show!�

�Thanks Mike,� I (Dan Miller) replied to his praise.

�Let�s party!� Trevor Penick shouted running around the dressing room half naked.

Jenna laughed. �Trev! Get some clothes on, boy!�

�Yes, please put something on. I don�t wanna see that!� Jacob Underwood told Trevor as we all laughed.

We were all in good spirits. The last date on our tour had been a huge success. The whole tour was a major achievement for us. Jenna and I had gotten married only a year ago and we were still so much in love. Jacob, Trevor, and even Ashley Angel supported us. The fans were overwhelmingly amazing. So much support and love poured out from our fan base.

�So where do we want to go tonight?� Ashley asked the group.

�How about that nightclub we passed on our way here?� Jenna suggested. �What was the name of that place? Kicks?�

�Yeah, I think that�s it,� Jacob agreed. �Good idea, Jen.�

�Thanks,� Jenna took a bow. �I�m always right.�

�Of course you are,� I said as I wrapped my arm around her waist and kissed her.

�Thanks Danny,� Jenna said returning the kiss.

�Oh come on guys. Cut it out,� Trevor said jokingly. �Let�s just get out of here already!�

�I second that!� Ashley laughed as we headed to the door.

After a rocky start, Ashley finally understands the love that Jenna and I share and he supports us. I think he still has feelings for her, but knows they could never work out. Jenna doesn�t even see how much he cares for her.

We got into the car Mike and Mike had left for us and drove to Kicks. There was an excited chatter as we searched for the neon sign down the road. Jenna spotted it first.

�Look guys! There it is! Pull off there, Jake!� Jenna pointed to the brightly colored building.

We watched in awe as Jacob pulled up in front of it. Neon signs flashed. We went up to the door and the bouncer, recognizing us, let us in. Trevor disappeared onto the dance floor, Jacob sulked off into a table in the corner, and Jenna, Ashley, and I went up to the bar.

�What to have? What to have?� Jenna said as she looked over the drink menu. �Oh look, Dan, let�s have strawberry daiquiris. It�s strawberry season ya know.�

�Sounds good,� I said sitting closer to her.

�What do you want, Ash?� she asked. �Oh wait, you�re not twenty-one yet are you? Too bad. I would order you a drink but everyone knows who you are and how old you are so it wouldn�t work.�

�Yeah man, sorry,� I joked around with him.

�You guys laugh now, but when you�re one hundred years old, I�ll still be ninety-nine,� Ashley laughed.

�Immaturity! I like! Hey, bartender, Ash here will have a Shirley Temple!� Jenna called down the bar.

I laughed. Jenna was always like that. Giving everyone a hard time. That was one of the things I loved her for.

The bartender took our order. �So that will be two strawberry daiquiris and a Shirley Temple?�

�Yes and could you make sure he has lots of cherries, please?� Jenna laughed. �Just messin with ya, Ash.�

�Ha, funny stuff,� Ashley replied.

�I know, I know,� Jenna said bowing. Suddenly Trevor came running up to us.

�Guys, come quick! Jacob found a girl!� Trevor was laughing hysterically.

�For serious?� Jenna asked Trevor. �What kind of girl would actually be brave enough to talk to Jake?�

�Um, well you�re gonna have to come see for yourself,� Trevor said walking away.

The three of us got up knocking chairs together in the process. Ashley and Jenna ran ahead while I fought through the crowd. We found Jacob talking to a blonde haired girl at his table in the corner. He had no idea we were watching him.

�What in the heck?� Ashley asked no one in particular.

Jenna giggled. �Jakey�s got a girl!�

I couldn�t help but think that we had seen this girl somewhere before. She looked all too familiar. �Should we say something to him?� I asked.

�Yes!� Jenna and Trevor screamed together.

We walked up to the table causally trying not to make a huge scene. It was already too late for that though when Jacob spotted us.

He groaned as we sat around them. �Hey guys,� he said embarrassed that he had been caught.

�Hello Jacob,� Jenna did her best to keep a straight face. �Would you like to introduce us to your lady friend here?�

�Guys, this is Jessica Kelley, Jess this is the guys,� Jacob pointed to each of us.

�Ahem,� Jenna cleared her throat.

�Oh sorry, Jess this is the guys and Jenna,� Jacob said exaggerating her name.

�Oh did I do that out loud?� Jenna asked innocently.

�Do you guys have a point of being here?� Jacob asked us annoyed.

�We just wanted to meet Jessica,� Trevor said laughing. He and Ashley exchanged fake worried looks. �You don�t think he�s going to ditch us for a girl, do you Ash?�

�I dunno, Trev. Let�s ask him,� They turned to Jacob. �Jake, are you going to ditch us, your best buddies in the entire world, for a girl?�

�I might if you don�t leave� like now,� Jacob hissed.

�Okay, okay, we�re leaving,� I said ushering the guys out of the booth. Jenna was already standing. �Nice to meet you, Jessica.�

We walked away laughing. �What in the heck was that?� I asked. �You guys are so weird sometimes!�

�Hey, hey, calm down Mr. Maturity,� Jenna put her arm around my shoulders. �We were just having fun with Jake. God knows how long it�s been since he�s had a girlfriend.�

�Yeah, you know Jake, always scaring off the ladies with his angst,� Ashley said.

We all teased Jacob about his lack of girlfriend skills. We even bought him �Romeo and Juliet� and told him to study Romeo�s pickup lines. Usually he took it all in stride.

�Hey, who knows, this could be the one,� I said. My reply was met with a fit of laughter. �What?�

�Dan, you are not serious, are you?� Jenna bit her lip trying to hide her smile. �You�re not are you?�

�Hell no!� I laughed along with them. Hey, we can all be immature sometimes, right?
