Finger Paint

Homeamde Fingerpaint

1/3 cup liguid laundry starch
1/3 cup cold water
1 cup soap flakes
1 drop of food coloring

Mix all the ingredients.  Store in a tightly covered container.

2 cups water
1 1/2 flour

Pour water in bowl.  Stir in the flour.  Add a drop or few of food coloring.

Squeeze Bottle Painting

Dilute finger paint (any type) with water to make a thinner mixture.  Put in squeeze bottles. (old ketchup, mustard, shampoo bottles.. clean the first) Now you are ready to squeeze the paint on the paper to make a design!! Put different colors of paint in different bottles.

Salt Paint

Mix ingredients together in a bowl.  Use as paint.  If you add non-fat-dry milk to the paint it will be glossy when dry.  Mix powdered tempra paint or food coloring with the mixture.  The pictures will sparkle when dry.

Corn Syrup Painting

Items:  Corn syurp, food coloring, paper, brushes

Preperation:  Mix corn syurup as much as you feel nessecary. (karo clear) and food coloring(paste) into seperate containers.  It does not take musch food coloring to color the syrup

Instructions:  The corn syurp paint dries very glossy and traunslucent.  This is espically nice on precut butterflies, easter eggs and Christmas ornaments.  It takes a while for the corn syrup to dry completely.

Dropper Blends

Gelatin Finger Paint

Give Children thinned tempra paints, medicine droppers, andwhite styrofoam egg cartons.

Put the paint into egg carton, and let children get the paint and put in upon paper with the medicine dropper.

1/2 cup cornstarch
1/2 cup cold water Divided
2 cups hot water
1 envelope Jell-O or other brand gelatin
1/2 cup dishwashing liquid
2 pkg. unsweetened Kool-Aid or other fruit-Flavored powder Drink mix (for color)

In a Saucepan, blen the cornstarch and 1/4 cup  cold water.  Add the hot water and heat unitl boiling, stiring constantly.  Remove from heat.  Mix gelatin powder with the remaining 1/4 cup cold water.  Add the liquid soap; stir.  Add the gelatin soap mixture to the cornstarch mixture  Stir in powdered drink mix.  Store in covered jar and refrigerator for 12 hours before using.

Tissue Paper Painting

Paint Brush
Pre-cut or ripped pieces of colored tissue paper
vinegar (apprpx 1/2 cup)
large peices of white paper
scissors

Place the tissue paper on the large sheet of paper and paint over with vinegar.  After the tissue paper is on for a minute or 2, the tissue paper will peal off and leave the color design. 

Dry Starch Paint

1 cup dry laudry starch
1 cup mild soap powder
2 tablespoons powdered tempra
1 cup water

Combine all ingredients.  Beat the mixture until it is smooth.  Add more water if mixture is too thick.

Flour Paint

3 cups Flour
2 tablespoons liquid soap
3/4 cup water
foor coloring or powdered tempra

Combine the first thre ingredients until the mixture is a thick paste.  Tint with food coloring or powdered tempera.
