What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, through the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Oh say, does that star spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
Thank you...for leaving your families, your friends, your familiarity, your comfort zone, for giving up your life...to answer that call of duty that you proudly performed, until the end.
Thank you...for doing your very best to protect our country, for fighting against the evils of Saddam Hussein, and giving your all to see that the people of America are saved from the terror of those who made themselves enemies.
Thank you...for being brave, for standing straight and tall in uniform, for proudly carrying our beautiful Star Spangled Banner with you into those foreign lands of opposition.
Thank you, soldiers...Not only did you lose everything for our country, but you did it willingly, to see a difference made. Thank you for giving your very lives.
