Defense Concepts

Armored Cybernetic Exoskeleton: Valkyrie Class

This ACE is the core of the aerial assault units. Lightly armored, the Valkyrie is built for speed. With twin rocket thrusters and small steering thrusters, a skilled pilot could run circles around most anti-aircraft systems. The Valkyrie class exoskeleton is equipped with explosive charges equivalent to a C-4 explosive, but can be set in mid-air for a bombing effect. Its sleek, angled design, along with a combination of reduced infrared, acoustic, electromagnetic, visual and radar signatures make it difficult for virtually all sophisticated defensive systems to detect, track and engage the Valkyrie. Like the other ACEs, the Valkyrie is also equipped with EMP grenades and BSENIGs allowing it to disable enemy forces, electronic systems, radar, and communications.

Armored Cybernetic Exoskeleton: Juggernaut Class

Equipped with dual 35-mm cannons, a particle beam rifle, and a PAAMD (Personal Automatic Assault Mass Driver), the Juggernaut class ACE packs the most firepower. As the largest ACE and the most heavily armored unit in the Prototek Arsenal, the Juggernaut is a walking fortress. The armor of the Juggernaut is designed to withstand chemical, biological, and nuclear agents as well as electro-magnetic pulses, lasers, and conventional projectile weapons. There are 5 layers of armor in this ACE as opposed to the Titan class, which only has 4 armor layers. The outermost layer is composed of a combination of nurescell with an enhanced polypropylene compound. This layer provides radiation/heat shielding as well as biohazard/chemical shielding. The second layer comprises triple-weave kevlar imbedded in a high-strength nylon compound. The third layer is composed primarily of carbon nanotubes which have a tensile strength equal to that of diamond, but with the mass density of graphite. The fourth layer is composed of a ceramic composite, much like the space shuttle tiles. The use of this composite allows the Juggernaut to absorb and siphon off heat (without damaging its operator) and convert it to energy via heat-energy transformer conduits, rerouting it to the power storage cells. The fifth and final layer of armor consists entirely of 4 inch thick plates of Aerogel, which, interestingly enough is 99.8% air. Aerogel was used on the Mars PathFinder rover by NASA to capture particles traveling at high velocities, sometimes even faster than a bullet. In the unlikely event that a projectile penetrates the first four layers of armor, the Aerogel plates are the last line of defense. Due to its size and armor, however, the Juggernaut sacrifices speed and maneuverability, making it a likely target for the enemy unless supported by other troops.

Armored Cybernetic Exoskeleton: Spartan Class

Equipped with a plasma blade, molecular pigment distortion suit, and silenced miniaturized compressed air sniping unit(SMICASU), as well as an extensive micro-electronics and sensor array(MESA), the Spartan class ACE is built for stealth and covert missions, operating with deadly accuracy and precision. As the stealthiest and the most technologically advanced unit in the Prototek Arsenal, the Spartan Unit is the modern-day counterpart of the ninja of medieval Japan. The armor of the Spartan is designed to withstand NBC agents, and EMPs as well as conventional firearm assaults. However, in order to enhance mobility and stealth, the MESA of the unit replaces additional armor and weapons systems which are normally found in other ACE units. There are 3 layers of armor in this ACE as opposed to the Titan class, which has 4 armor layers. The outermost layer is composed of a combination of nurescell with an enhanced polypropylene compound. This layer provides radiation/heat shielding as well as biohazard/chemical shielding. The second layer comprises triple-weave kevlar imbedded in a high-strength nylon compound. The third layer is composed primarily of carbon nanotubes which have a tensile strength equal to that of diamond, but with the mass density of graphite. The primary power source for the Spartan is derived from the operator's excess body heat and can be supplemented with outside power sources through the use of the universal power siphon/jack.

Advanced Automated Repair Drone (AARD)

The advanced automated repair drone is out in the front lines repairing damage done to the ACEs. The AARD is equipped with the latest repair technologies and a detailed schematic of every vehicle in the arsenal. It is also quite heavily armored for such a light, quick moving vehicle. Fast and efficient, the AARD is an essential addition to any assault force.

Armored Aerial Assault Transport

This vehicle can contain up to 15 ACEs and 5 repair drones. This transport flies the troops into battle, avoiding much of the ground fire. It is also heavily armored to withstand anti-aircraft weaponry and any fire it may incur while unloading troops. It is equipped with a recharger for ACE battery cells used to power any electronic devices on the ACE. This transport is the standard and most efficient way to get your troops into battle.

Bio-Static Electro-Neural Impulse Grenade (BSENIG)

Explodes upon impact, releasing a electro-magnetic radiation pulse that jams the electro-chemical impulses the brain sends to the body, blocking the flow of blood to the brain, killing all within the range of the grenade. ACEs are protected by a field of electromagnetic energy that blocks the BSENIG frequency wave. This field incorporates sub-harmonic variable flux-frequency sequences which are generated and modified every millisecond by the ACE's internal computer system. These frequencies are "perpendicular" to the BSENIG frequency, resulting in the canceling out of the BSENIG's effects. Soldiers that are not in ACEs or other vehicles must wear a body suit with the same shielding field as the ACEs.

Electro-magnetic Pulse Grenade

Designed for use by the ACEs, this powerful grenade can also be used by hand-to-hand combatants. Upon impact, the EMP grenade unleashes a pulse wave of electro-magnetic energy that fries all electrical systems within a 20 foot radius. The ACEs are protected by special insulation comprised of nurescell and other polycarbonate compounds, blocking the entry of the electro-magnetic pulses.

Covert Operations

Plasma Blade

An extremely useful tool in construction, demolition, and excavation, this blade is actually a tightly contained electro-magnetic field supercharged with plasma (super-energized particle cloud which can become white hot depending on how much the cloud is energized). This allows the blade to function as a sort of laser-cutter, only more powerful. The plasma is contained within the electro-magnetic field which is emitted from micro-generators inside an emitter matrix in the HTN's sword-wielding gauntlet. Due to the intense energy flowing through the field, the Plasma Blade becomes hot enough to cut through virtually anything.

Bio-Static Electro-Neural Impulse Disruptor (BISENID)

This device can easily be concealed in the palm of your hand or anywhere else on the body. After a five second fuse, the BSENID, like the BSENIG, emits electro-neural frequency pulses that jam emmissions from the brain for a 30 foot radius. The BSENID has a wavelenth fluctuation modifier control, which allows the user to control the intensity of the frequency wavelength. Depending on the intensity of the wavelength set, this device can also cause blackouts, fainting, and even death. The more intense the wavelength, the more likely it is to cause permanent damage to the victim. These pulses continue for 10 seconds at which point the BSENID deactivates itself for recovery and reuse. The user is protected from the pulses by a bodysuit which filters out any disrupting frequencies. The bodysuit is equipped with an electro-magnetic field of the same type found in the ACEs. This is ideal for clearing out large rooms of enemies, hostage situations, and capturing enemies alive.

Molecular Pigment Distortion Suit

Nicknamed the chameleon suit, When activated, the MPD suit reforms the pigment of both the suit and the wearer, allowing them to blend in with their surroundings and avoid detection in such areas as hunting and security. It is extremely tight, fitting itself to the contours of the wearer's body. It is also equipped with holographic projectors (to help blend in the edges with the surroundings) as well as NBC lining and heavy-duty insulation. The suit operates on the body heat generated by the user, which is converted to electricity by a thermal converter. It is also equipped with with backup cells, in case there is not enough energy generated by the body. Although this runs on electric energy generated by the user, it still drains much energy, making it impractical to leave on all the time.

Oxygen Filtration Breathing Apparatus (OFBA)

A device that, using a semi-permeable membrane, extracts oxygen from H20 when placed in water. When placed over the mouth, this device allows the user to breathe underwater. It intakes water and separates the oxygen from the water by means of electrolysis and the membrane. It then expels the leftover hydrogen gas, leaving the oxygen for the user to breathe. In the future we hope to design a method of retaining and using the hydrogen gas to power a miniature battery cell which the device would operate on.
