Happy new year to you all! I survived this terribly busy month. But more relaxed times are not in sight yet. Although I was home a lot around christmas and new year, it wasn't too relaxed. If you are taking care of 2 kids all day, them you don't have much time and energy left. I took my son skating though, but he is still a little to young for that. He was afraid to fall and cold. He asked if he could sit on the sledge and if I could tow him. After a while he got distracted because there was a ferry-go-round nearby. Even with all that parties and such I still found time to play around with the computer. I did some Apple][ shapetable stuff but got tempted to do turtle graphics instead. Well they are both vector based so that's a normal thing to happen. When I working on things like that I can't do any video editing or linux stuff. It's all very time consuming and there are things in the real world that need my attention. I have ideas now about object oriented Turtles that work in parallel. Maybe 3D turtles would be interesting. Some Logo sites have really inspiring examples. I posted the results of the Apple ][ shapetable- stuff and the turtle graphics The retro-club is still not in business. I got an offer from my sister who's getting a laptop and wants to donate her old desktop to me. Well, I am a forster-home for abandoned computer hardware so of course I am interested. The time is ripe for mass adoption of the laptop. I bought my own PC at the end of 2007, and I expected to be using it for years to come. But if I needed I replacement I would not go for the desktop again. The netbook is not powerfull enough to replace my desktop PC so I would go for the laptop. Finally after years of bashing the overpriced laptops in favour of the desktop I am converted! |
