20080614 Because of the un-usual heat, I got a bad case of the flu.
By now I am almost over it.

Been enjoying the European Footbal Cup and the success of the Netherlands Team.

Professionally I am still struggling with Cobol. I found out how to call Win-Apis from Cobol.
Thanks to google code search!

In theory I can do all the things I had in mind for practice now.
Still I am looking for the elegant Cobol way though.
There simply is a difference between the kind of stuff I would like to do and
the kind of stuff Cobol was made for.

I started building my own routines as dll's for things as; file browsing, string handling
list processing in Cobol.

I also found some time to look into linux again.
I was trying for a nice way to install a distro to an USB flash drive.
For a friend I tried to install linux on his old PC. I took a whole bunch of old LiveCD's (2007)
to his house. Most LiveCD's booted Ok, but the scripts to install the LiveCD to HD didn't work
properly in most cases.

Next time, I will try Damn Small Linux because I didn't have any problems with that one myself.

20080629 Added a quick project; standing sinus wave. I started this in Cobol because Cobol also has Sin/Cos functions.
Just did "move '*' to PrintLine(siny:1)". I was wondering how it would look animated in Hires
so I did it in Javascript. It was first Javascript in a long time, so i could use the practice.

Saw "The king of kong" movie; it's about retro-gaming.

A friend of mine bought the Ultimate 1541, wich is a SD- card reader for c64.
He also bought an eprom burner and eraser, expanded a c64 with speedDos and JiffyDos selectable.
Because of that I am thinking about getting into retro stuff and hardware projects again.

Didn't do a lot of linux lately

Fixed my old 21" CRT screen; it standing idle on my nightstand now. I am still thinking about
donating it to a friend.
