Available Engine Swaps:

BPT:

There are two variations of the BPT:

The post 1990 Mazda 323 GTX has a 180hp/165 lbs./ft torque (est) version of this engine. These engines are more common than the other BPT. This engine will bolt directly in to your engine bay.

The post 1990 Mazda 323 GTR has a 210hp/180-190 lbs./ft. torque (est) version of this engine. This engine would be close to impossible to find, and probably much more expensive to import here. It bolts right into your engine bay.

Corksport has the BPT engine for sale for something like $1100 for the GTX, and 1800 for the GTR (excluding freight). Look at the "J-Spec Engines" section for more details.

KL series:

There are 2 versions of the KL engine as well:

KL: This engine is found on all American Ford Probe's/Mazda MX-6's. It is a 2.5 litre V-6 with 164 hp and 162 lbs./ft. of torque. This engine will require extensive fitting, and you will need to get a different transmission and axles from a MX-6 to fit it. A MX-3 tranny will work with it as well as the MX-6's.

KL-ZE: This is a J-Spec engine that is pretty much the same as the KL, but has 200 hp/ 182 lbs./ft. of torque. Otherwise the fitment is the same as the KL

Both of these engines are available through A-Spec, a Canadian outfit that has done many of these swaps. If you want to swap these engines in, i'd suggest you get it done here. They charge 2200 dollars for the KL, and 3100 for the KL-ZE swap, which includes axels, and the transmission.

B6T: Engine found in the 86-88 Mazda 323 GTX. It was a 1.6 liter 130 hp 105 lbs./ft. torque (est) engine. I don't know about fitment, or where you can get this engine, but I have heard it works with the Protege/Escort GT

K08: Engine found in the 1992-1995 Mazda MX-3's. It is a 1.8 liter 130 hp/115 lbs./ft. torque DOHC V6 engine. This engine will require some modification, and MX-3 axles, and transmission, but isn't really worth bothering with. It's only a 5 HP 1 torque gain, so whats the point? But I have heard it will work, so i figured i'd mention it :)
