"Sure, it's a small clutch but... Look at those eggs!" Gidrah grinned. Ear to ear, it seemed. They had paraded past the eggs for several days, and each time both young siblings had felt a strong connection to the eggs. "I'd be willing to bet on that egg there," Gidrah said, "hatching first." "What, that smallish one? You're joking. The big mottled one is going to." Hezra said. Both had been a lot more free with their money since Gidrah's mine had hit it huge. She didn't even seem to mind that the miners grabbed up what they could as well. It was only fair. The days turned into weeks, and it wasn't looking like too many other candidates were going to show up to this new little weyr. That made Hezra a bit nervous. "What if there aren't enough to go around? I mean, it'd be terrible if--" "Shh," Gidrah said, holding her finger up. "Listen!" It was true -- the hatching was starting! They were escorted down to the sands, where it seemed that the large number of visitors should have been allowed down on the sands too, there were so few candidates! The others looked as nervous as the siblings about this.

The sands were loud with the humming, and finally, a huge crack of an egg caught everyone's attention! "I told you so!" Gidrah cheered, as the smaller of the eggs broke open to show a bold, energetic but angry looking green. "Pay up, bub!" Laughing, they watched as the green bonded to a happy girl. Then one of the bigger eggs broke, the one which Hezra had tagged as hatching first. The hide was bronze, but... The wings were sailed in a beautiful dark starry pattern! "How incredible!" Hezra breathed. Gidrah nudged her brother, but he was totally entranced by this beauty. "Rianeth," Hezra said, with confidence. Hezra, thought the dragon. It was sure, the bond had happened! Gidrah applauded for her brother, a bronze! How appropriate, and how appropriate that the bronze was so odd! Another beautiful, odd Golden dragon bonded to the girl beside Gidrah, one with a white belly and golden hide above. Two eggs hatched, a brown and a blue. The blue sat down in a huff, while the brown appeared to bond to one of the last boys on the sands. Gidrah noticed with a start that she was the only candidate left. The blue did not seem to have any interest in her at all, which kind of let her heart down. The search rider's blue was so stunning and she did so love them. But then Zoith the queen raised herself up, and showed off a tiny golden dragonet hatchling! Will you make me clean and make me sparkle like the gold you find underground? "Of course I will Aureliath!" Gidrah cheered, her heart fluttering. The little blue was left on the sands, but... He did not seem unhappy about it. Gidrah and her bond glanced back at him before leaving to find their siblings.

Hezra lounged around the den, while the dragons were sleeping. He and Gidrah had earned the rest, too. With the dragons growing quickly, and their food intake continuing to skyrocket, the pair had little time to themselves. The dragons would be learning how to fly, soon. In fact, Rianeth had almost made it into the air by tumbling out of their den earlier that week. Aureliath caught him, she should have been bigger than her bronze brother by now, but it really looked as if the gold would remain quite small -- not much bigger than your average green or blue! "I'm so glad she's little..." Gidrah muttered, finishing the sweeping off of the den's dirty floor. "Maybe soon that big starry-winged monster of yours will fly to another den, so we can actually have some elbow room again." "Hey," Hezra chuckled, "he's going to be big, and strong. Just to hear him say it is enough for me. And I thought you liked cramped quarters, look at your old job! Wandering around in mines..." "I like it close, not cramped." Gidrah smiled. She waved the broom at her brother, shooing him off his couch and onto the table beside it while she swept. "They're beautiful," Hezra said, looking over his sister's head, at the pair of dragons beyond. They stirred, and the moments of peace and productivity were short...

After the clutch-siblings had learned to fly, teleport and hunt for themselves, Gidrah and Hezra finally had some time to themselves. With the gold still coming from the mine, being transported to Alskyr via a reliable teleporting dragon, the Miagi pair along with their family were going to live as rich merchants upon their arrival. The new Caer was visibly different from their old Blackstone, but it was beautiful! And, of course, gold was still quite the commodity. Luckily it was Hezra's bronze who retained the ability to fully teleport, because he learned that he would be heading up the Currier Wing's small "inter world" transport division. I like doing this work, bespoke the dragon. His starry wings made him the envy of many around. And I think that my sister enjoys her work as well. Rianeth gazed at his tiny golden sister. She was barely the size of an adult blue. It is fun finding people... Aurealiath thought to her rider Gidrah. "The rescue squad loves having her on board." Gidrah announced, "she's the only gold. They're all amazed she is so small... I think a couple of the bronzes are going to start wooing her." "And how do you feel about this, dearest sister?" Hezra chuckled. "I think it'll depend on who rides that bronze, brother mine!"
