Bonded at the new
Dawn Sisters
"Did you see?! It was so beautiful!" Raisa bubbled over and clapped her hands at the celebration table. The place was filled with people from all holds, weyrs, houses and caers.

"You didn't have to wait too long for your beautiful green, did you?" Niah grinned from across the wide table. "It was forever for Arweth to come to me..."

"And a blue! Won't father be surprised?" Raisa giggled. "I'm sure that little green Onyath will enjoy learning all the things we must."

"You're used to the grind," Niah said, poking at a piece of meat in her stew. "I am not. I'm used to --"

"Skulking around the shadows, collecting information," Raisa hissed with a grin on her found face. "I know. And it's only a matter of time before the spy wing comes to get you."

"They don't exist," Niah smirked. "So... What about your guildcraft? Are you going to continue?"

"I... I will be learning all I can about dragons health, that's for certain. I think I might even become a dragon healer!"

"That's a good choice," Niah nodded. "As long as we're all happy."
The dragons certainly were happy! The hatching left them hungry and very sleepy -- so after hatching, they were quickly fed and cleaned by their new bonds.

And now, while the celebration goes on in the upper part of the weyr, the dragonets are guarded in their sleep by their elders, waiting until their bonds come back to tend them.

Their dreams are pure happiness!
Dreams turn to loving reality, when the weyrlings are old enough to fly! Sturdy green Onyath flexed her wings and lept into the air long before her brother decided he was ready.

"I just knew you could do it," Raisa giggled to her green dragoness.

I like this game. I will fly higher and faster too!

"You'd better concentrate on flying well, my sweet Onyath!" The navigator laughed, "because I don't want you flying so high you get lost!"
How can you stand me? I failed to do better than my little sister. I should go back to my egg and try again.

"No no!!" Niah hugged her brilliant sapphire weyrling. "You don't have to beat anyone, not even your sister!"

Well, that's good, because I don't need to swoop around like that. It's very distracting. There are other greens in the sky and they interest me greatly...

"Oh... do they?" Niah gulped. This early, he was already starting to take notice of the females? Well, he wouldn't be old enough to play that way for a good long while!
Arweth continued to look at the beautiful greens, and fortunately he ignored his clutch sister. Raisa doubted that she would handle a mating flight with her sister's bond!

I am worthy of a good mate, not to say that Onyath is not worth mating with!

"I know, my sweet, I'm not afraid to find you a good flight to sign up for. That's something I might even enjoy!"

I would hope so, I certainly plan on it. But would you remain with my mate's rider?

Niah merely pondered.
Raisa giggled as Onyath tumbled around in the air and flirted with the big males.

They were much too large to hope to fly her, and Raisa was relieved. Her sister's dragon was indeed a fine blue, and Raisa suspected that it would be a blue who could outpace the brilliant green.

Or a white! Perhaps a pretty white will find me. Do you think I am pretty?

Raisa was about to tell her dragon that of course she was pretty, even beautiful, when she realized that the dragon had aimed that thought at a passing brown.

Raisa found herself snorting out a laugh, which turned to a guffaw when the brown's rider happened to walk by and realized who was taunting his dragon!
