The hatching was suspenseful for some, it looked like the sire of the clutch was quite nervous himself! The golden egg which cued the hatching didn't actually open up until later on, ruining any bets which had been placed. A beautiful bronze hatched first, and the Carlson brothers were both thrilled to see him, and disappointed that he didn't come to one of them. A blue and green, then the wonderful gold hatched. Dramatic all the way until she left the sands, the queen would be a forceful one when she grew up! Three eggs broke, a brown, another bronze, and a combination green-gold! The green gold bonded first, and then the timid brown went around the bronze to check out the twins. Lavant seemed to feel the presense of the dragon's mind strongly, his brother did not. "Me, Javerth, I'm over here." The brown trotted happily over to them, and Lavant dipped down to scoop up the hatchling into his strong arms. I like it here, with you. You both are nice, but I like you best! "Why thank you, Javerth!" Lavant laughed. Other dragons hatched and bonded, the bronze and then a blue, and another green. then a brown and two blues came out. The darker of the two blues watched the others bond, and then spied Javerth and his happy bonder. He yelled out a bark, and strode to Levar, in the process he snapped at a girl who thought she might be his bond. He hooked his talon into Levar's robe. Mine! You're mine! Look at me now! "Hey! You don't need to get my attention like that Diosth, I saw you before!" I am sorry, the dragon thought, but for all the world it seemed like he was making it up.

Dark brown Javerth was quickly outgrowing his brother blue Diosth. But the blue would not be outdone in any way! Their shared den was a bit cramped, and the brothers knew it was only a matter of time before they would have to split up into their own. I would like to share a den with someone ... smaller. And calmer! Javerth insisted to Lavant. The blue on the ledge outside raised his head. I heard that! I am smaller! And who says I'm not calm! I am very calm! See how calm I am? "Diosth..." Levar laughed, "Dio, I think he didn't mean it in a mean way, just that..." I want some privacy! Diosth blurted out, and raised his wings to swoop to the lake below. He will get more than he is counting on... Javerth thought, and Lavant looked up to the hallway door to see their weyrling trainer standing with a frown on his face. "Does he have to be so loud? We've got green riders down there wondering what all the noise is about!" "Sorry..." Sorry!

Javerth tossed his dark face and nudged his rider Lavant. I am ready. Have you packed everything you are taking? "Yes, I think Levar is done too. But you might have to take one of his packs." I can carry it all! Really! The blue his brother rode always seemed to be listening in. Levar does not have all that stuff to carry. It is light. "It's not, and if we crash because you're over loaded, it's only your fault. He offered to carry it." Levar stated, and then ducked the quickly swishing tail that the dragon displayed in ire. I wish we were already there. You want to go home... I want to see home! I agree! This place is beautiful, and there are nice females, but your minds are lonely for the people we have never met. The dragons filled their wings with air, as they launched off Dark Moon's ledge, teleporting away to the Protectorate's Alskyran home.
