The Shubins. Two Old Russian noble families. First of them descends from a Shubin, which was active in the end of XVI century, whose son, Gavrila (deceased in 1632nd) was a lanowner in the area of Poshekhon. This family of Shubins was listed in VI-th volume of nobility of Yaroslavl Region, part of Old Russian nobility; coat of arms was included into IV-th part of General Arms' Compilation. Second family of Shubins traces its roots from 1st quarter of XVII century and was transformed into Shubins-Pozdnevs in 1879. Marfa Shubin, mother of P. N. Dubovitsky, was a descendant of the first one.
