Bill received BS degrees in both Chemical Engineering and Chemistry from Rutgers University and also has an MBA in Management from West Texas A&M University, formerly West Texas State University. He was a process engineer for over 20 years working in the chemical processes and materials handling from laboratory scale through world scale chemical processing. He then became an expert in the process safety and the HAZOP PHA methodology. For 11 years, he was a principal process safety resource for a large international chemical company performing PHA's, assisting in developing and implementing process safety management systems to meet company needs and the requirements of OSHA 1910.119 when it was first promulgated, and providing basic and advanced training in the topics needed for successful PHA's and incident investigations. He served with the American Institute of Chemical Engineers Center for Chemical Process Safety's Technical Management Subcommittee for 10 years helping to develop the books which transfer t he knowledge of experts from 14 major chemical corporations to the world.
For two years with Aventis/Axiva and now for more than 5 years with his own company, Bill has been providing both training and PHA leadership and facilitation to chemical companies in the US and internationally.
Other resources are available when needed. These people are mostly retired corporate experts from major chemical companies who have each had over 10 years experience in developing and implementing process safety management. All have international experience with a variety of management systems and philosophies to avoid having their adviced tinged by "this is how XYZ Company does it."They are used to seeing how you do versus your requirements.
