Trip to Scotland May 2005
(with my little brother Greg and his college IWU)
We started our trip in Chicago and flew to London. Then flew to Aberdeen, where we met the coolest tour guide ever!! Spencer!
Day 1: May 16th � Arrived in Aberdeen.

Balmoral Castle (Purchased by Queen Victoria in 1848, the Estate has been the Scottish Home of the British Royal Family ever since.)

-We spent the night in Perth at the  Ramada Jarvis Perth Hotel(this hotel in Perth use to be an old mill and still has water running underneath.)

Day 2:May 17th  Edinburgh day
-drove over the 4th Road Bridge (The Forth Road Bridge was built in 1958 and finished in 1964.) {This highway suspension bridge crosses the Firth of Forth in Scotland and just half a mile away from the Forth Railway Bridge, the Railway Bridge is the second longest cantilever span in the world. Even today, no other bridge can match it for awesome scale and it was built in 1890.}
(the island was a monastery then a leaper colony)

Edinburgh Castle Road I walked in the middle cause I'm a princess and that was were royality walked cause the stones were raised so crap would go around your feet. :-)

(I love Braveheart, eventhough it's not totally acurate)

St Giles Cathedral (We took a tour here to see The Thistle Chapel which was built in 1911 for Scotland's order of chivalry, the Most Ancient and Most Noble Order of the Thistle.)

Scotland National Gallery of Art (I went here all alone but found some great new artist to admire.) {Paton's Oberon & Titania} {Gilbert's Comedy Tadgey}

Dryburgh Abbey (founded in 1150 by Hugh de Moreville, established under the influence of King David I. { one of the most beautiful places.} Sir Walter Scott's grave is here)

went on a tour of Sir Walter Scott' s Abbotsford House (this place was huge)
-then for dinner we went to a
Ceilidh for the Taste of Scotland with the Three Scottish Tenors
