I took Martin on a tour of downtown Columbus!
Here are some of my fav views in downtown.
We went on a tour of the Ohio Statehouse. We had an awesome tour guide who told us all about the building and whatnot. I bought Martin his very own buckeye nut. There was this cool map of Ohio with all the countys on it. (I have my knee in the county where I went to college and my foot where our house is.)
I just liked these statues. I high-fived the Griffin and Martin hugged a lion.
I took Martin to my favoritest theater and we even found someone who took us in so he could see the stage. I love the Ohio Theater, Dad and I have seen many a shows here..
I took him to see the Santa Maria that sits on the Scioto River.
Click on the links around the map for your own columbus tour.
The Palace Theater is on of the other theaters in columbus that I've been to a number of time. (if you look on the map it is near the statehouse.)
For those of you who are not from Ohio, my folks actual live in Plain City. Perhaps the name of the town will explain why I spend most of my time away. Columbus is about 20-30 min away.
Martin and I met up with my friend Amy at the new COSI building (west side of the Scioto on the map), I still prefer the old one and I'm sure my parents agree, but when you spent many Girl Scout overnights in the old COSI building learning lots of cool science and stuff you get rather attached. For those of you in DC where COSI is the name of a resturant, COSI to Ohio folks means Center Of Science and Industry and is a huge hands-on science museum.
One of the cool things to do at COSI is the High Wire Unicycle . The High Wire Unicycle is a unique experience that allows you to pedal a unicycle on a 1.5-inch cable spanning 84 feet, 17 feet above ground. What keeps you from falling? Balance.
Martin and Amy learning how the balls float in the air in the Gadget section of COSI.
One of my favorite places in the old COSI was Yesteryear. It had an old fashioned movie theater and you could learn how to make paper. The new building calls this section Progress. (Even though they no longer have the theater, we found things to entertain us.)
Amy was on Television in 1962 .
In 1962, color television was the latest thing! The television studio in Progress is conducting interviews for a news anchor, and you can audition!
As you can see, we know how to have fun, however we all decided that we are all too old for the Centripetal Generotor. Spinning really fast makes us sick.
I also took Martin to one of the Wittenberg hang outs. Yellow Spring! If you want to go on an aweome nature walk you gotta check out Glen Helen.
