The Four Forces of Flight
By: Jeffrey Archer
Upon the recent completion of my Private Pilot's License I have
found that a good understanding of what keeps my airplane up in the air is an important
thing to know. When you are 5000 feet up in the air and something goes wrong you hope that
you can understand what is going on so that you can keep from becoming another mark on
I-5.
I have broken up the Four Forces of Flight up just as I was taught them,
Thrust, Weight, Lift, and Drag. Within each section is a description of the force and some
examples and different factors that will help you better understand each force.
