Darren Hayes
Back when Savage Garden first came out I didn't listen to any music other then rap and R&B so I didn't listen to them at the time but I remember when I heard Truly Madly Deeply on the radio for the first time my mouth dropped. Now even though I wouldn't admit I liked it, I loved that song. By the end of my sophomore year when I started listening to stuff outside of Hip Hop, I heard I Knew Loved You on the radio one night and knew I liked that song so I taped it. When I really listened to the words of that song, I believe I truly understood what love was, Darren Hayes said it all in that one song. I bought both albums that summer and was amazed, especially the Affirmation album, it made me a life long fan. I have spent the past 5-6 years trying to get everything that Darren Hayes/Savage Garden has ever recorded and await everything that he releases. Affirmation is my favorite album right alonside Makaveli. What I take from Darren Hayes is his understanding of love and human emotion, I someday hope to be able to express what I am feeling just half as well as he does but I don't think his love songs will ever be touched by anybody.
