Love has been heavy on my spirit

Praise God!

I haven't even read your site yet, but I had to write you because the mention of love has been heavy on my spirit.

What Paul said, about having all the spiritual gifts, yet not love, the gifts sound like a clanging cymbal. What Jesus said by this shall men know that you are my disciples, that you have love one for another. And finally, when Jesus was teaching his disciples about being a servant, He says, I was sick and you comforted me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was hungry and you fed me, I was in prison and you visited me. His disciples asked when Lord did we do these things for you, and Jesus responded when you do so to the least of them, you do so unto me.

These verses have been ringing in my spirit for months. After praying for Christ's love, God is making it possible to love some very unkind people, because I know it is only by God's grace that I am where I am, and that not too long ago, I too was unkind and unlovable. When I begin to get on my high horse, the Holy Spirit will surely bring to remembrance some ugly deed I did. I continue to thank God each and every day for His salvation.

Yours in Christ,

Joan

Webmaster's comments: Exactly! The reason God put us here on this earth is for us to love each other. That is our purpose. Love fulfills the whole law. I am overjoyed to get a letter from someone who understands this. All other pursuits, theories and precepts are secondary. Let's love one another first. Then, let us show our love in all those other things we do. Let's be sure that all those other things we do actually do show our love.

Thank you, Joan. And I hope you will read the rest of the site.
